Eric Davis just mentioned this and said it is pretty much normal to do this, he wouldn't be surprised if they do something to protect the foot for a few days also. But he made a point that anyone coming back from a broken bone will often get an X-ray after the first couple games as a precaution.

Man, do I feel dumb. After SB 46 I said about him "BB is trying to make chicken salad out if chicken sh!t". I could not have been more wrong. My only defense is that I *think* I was talking about him as a CB. I fully admit I was wrong then, and will be sticking to my job instead of trying to be a GM.
