Knee Injury Still Nagging Gronkowski

Ian Logue

The Patriots were being cautious with Gronkowski this week, with the tight end still dealing with a nagging knee injury.

Well he did pretty well after a week off when he initially got it. Hopefully these 2 weeks when it is a bit more healed do the trick again. 2 more games till yet another bye week as long as he does not aggravate it.

Also even though i know it is the playoffs if the Pats get up over 14 points at some point in this game i would seriously considering holding Gronk out until and unless that total lessens.

*Sighs* well Big Guy to bring you down they have to go to your knees or ankles. Gronk did not get much help this year from the position Hoooman was more effective than that waste of space we currently have Scott Chandler.

At no time in his Pats career did Hoomanawanui have anything close to what Chandler had this year.

This year alone disagrees with that

Hoomanawanui 11 rec 76 yards 3 TD (all with the Saints)

Chandler 23 rec 260 yards 4 TD

Hoomanawanui's best year with the Pats was '13, 12 rec 136 yards 1 TD and 8 rec and 95 yards came before Gronk came back that year.

Hmmm: Hoomans receptions seem like they were in Big moments maybe thats why I remember them.
Chandlers 260 yds have to be among the quietest we have seen.

He had some big catches, for sure. But he didn't do much, statistically. And it's good they have Hicks, who they traded Hooman for.

I'll still take Gronk even not at 100%. Hopefully we light the Chiefs up so we can sit Gronk for extra rest. Having JE and 'Dola back should take pressure off of him.

Well Gronk does not need the practice that much. Just needs to be as healthy as possible. At this point I would be perfectly happy to have Gronk only practice in walk through for the rest of the playoffs.

Conspiracy Theory re: Gronk.

Reid is playing games with Maclin. BB is playing games with Gronk.

Not sure I buy it though.

Not a good thing that Gronk is missing this late in the week although I doubt he will miss the game. But this is concerning.

Which makes me wonder even more why they even played Gronk and Brady in that game.

Regarding the Miami game, it could be that he just wasn't giving it his all. Not just him, but most of the starters. It's obvious that they were just trying to get through that game without additional injuries.

I still expect Gronk to come up huge in the postseason.

That's my thought, can someone check on our glass half empty posters, they are probably having a worying meltdown right now...

#Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski missed practice today because of a knee injury, but my understanding is he should be good for this weekend.

That playing conservatively not to get injured against Dolphins worked out really well for the Pats. Brady sprains his ankle and Gronk re-injures his knee. Imagine if they went all out. Brady and Gronk could be dead right now.

No chance BB thinks the effect of holding Gronk out on the Chiefs preparations outweighs the value of him practicing.

Could be pre-cautionary, we might get an idea when the injury report comes out later. Hell, maybe he came out after the media left.

Brady and Gronk shouldn't have played at all then. Or, if they were hell bent on getting the live reps, a series or two.
