How dare people be concerned that their team has been playing like absolute **** for 2 months now.

If the NEP are not taking their play for the past 6 weeks hard (i.e. pissed off like a motherf*cker), then they'll probably get their *sses kick next game, as well.

Anger is a great motivator to change behaviour.

And if they don't change their behaviour- on the field -they'll be chucking a great chance to compete for another prize.

I wouldn't necessarily call the positive patties homers. They're the type of people that always see the positives in whatever negative is thrown at them. Nothing wrong with that, it's a good trait. If their team loses, they say, "well they gave it their best shot. You got to be proud of that." or," There's always next year." I have no problem with the power of positive thinking. It works but you can't use that line of thinking when conducting a critical analysis of a subject because the possibility of skewing actual truth is sky high. It's almost like a lie for the sake of being positive which seems to be pervasive in this day and age.

Then you got guys like me, if it's junk, it's junk. If it sucks, it sucks BUT if it's great, it's GREAT. I call it as I see it but I can also be positive. See the difference is i'm open to negative AND positive assertions whereas the positive patties are locked into just being positive. I'm more inclined to say it's guys like me who are the real die hard homers because no matter what, no loss is without it's aggravation and upset and the last thing I would ever do is not negatively critique this team if there was merit to it.

Ignorance is negative. If you ignore the negative, you'll become more affected by it. For example, if the NEP ignore the things they did wrong, they will not improve. Of course, one of the reasons why they watch film is to pick up on this stuff; not repeat their mistakes. So, once again, ignoring the negative is foolish. And this does not imply that one not be positive- just that one not ignore the negative to be so.

The homers that turn a blind eye and said everything will be all right are the REAL problem! This team has major issues right now that are being ignored just because of the record!

Thank gawd they can be resolved by posters whining.

You can be a rose colored glasses and tin foil hat wearing homer......most of us see this team for who they and the coaches are RIGHT NOW.....and it is not pretty. Yes a lot of injuries but the lack of leadership, fire, passion and heart in this team right now is troubling to say the least. I have always lived in the "REAL WORLD". Sorry that crushes your idealistic view of what and who this team is right now. I Will keep following our team that has a poor OL, marginal WR, limited pass rush, questionable secondary, and frequent poor offensive play calling (Did I miss anything my fellow realists?!?) for the entire postseason.......GO PATS!!!!

You live on a message board floating through cyberspace. Nothing you say has any effect on the guys playing and coaching.

Are you suggesting the injuries haven't hurt this team?
Where did I say anything like that?

Are you under the impression the season's over?

Who is expecting them to lose? Any team can win if they make the playoffs and our team has the best coach and QB.

I'm a positive thinker. They've got two weeks and offensive players returning, resting, or shaking rust off.

I've seen the team win three playoff games on the road with no rest after hardly winning any for 25 years.
Well if your point is can you hope sure they have to win 3 games.
If the point is to be honest about where this team stands the likelihood of post season success after game 16 is the worst it's been in a very very long time for this team.
The offense hadn't looked this bad in many years, much less on the eve of the playoffs. We consistently expect the Patriots to have an edge in the playoffs because they prepare so that they peak in time for the playoffs. They have hit bottom in time for the playoffs this year. Isn't it pretty hypocritical to not be concerned and doubtful of this team?

The Oline scares me. They've been getting worse every week. Getting guys back will certainly help, but I just don't think they will magically click back into early season form. Anything can happen, but I think we will need the defense to play the 3 best games of the season if we have a chance at another championship

Not worse than 2007.

Yes, everything is just fabulous.

So you are complaining about people complaining?

How dare people be concerned that their team has been playing like absolute **** for 2 months now.

We just ended the season losing 4 of 6 games. So when are we allowed to complain? When they lose 5 of 6? 6 of 6?

These made me laugh so much! I kinda needed it after today, so thanks, guys. I love this forum! Seriously though, the Pats will be fine. I truly believe that as long as we have TFB we have a chance every year. Also, IIRC, we just finished our third consecutive season with a 12-4 record, even with all the injuries that took place. How many fan bases can brag about that? We are SO spoiled! Let's keep enjoying this ride, I have the feeling that we are really gonna miss these moments one day. We are on to divisional round!

Not worse than 2007.

Wait...Ray Clay--you're comparing our current postseason chances/late season fizzle to a year when we ended the season 16-0 on a high which was broadcasted by 3 major television networks? What am I missing here, because clearly I'm not following your thinking.

If anything, one could argue that 2007 was the year when people had the highest hopes and the team was clearly outplaying its competition on both sides of the ball.

I feel that although there is some sort of concern for the lack of play from the Patriots this past game, fact is we still have a shot in the playoffs with bye week. There is no doubt they will fight and do their very best whether we fall short or not.

Concerning the O-line, I feel that throughout the last couple years the line has been very inconsistent, however, they have their stretches where they "GEL" out of nowhere for key games.

For all the negative people out there, I have a feeling some of you were the same people saying we were about to lose when we went down 14 points to the Ravens last year twice in the divisional game.

Those of us accused of being Homers haven't turned a blind eye to anything. Only people like yourself believe we have because we aren't whining and crying like the world is ending.. We've actually seen and assessed the situation and used our brains to understand that things like injuries are out of the control of the team and they can only do so much..

There are no issues being ignored. People like yourself don't seem to comprehend that.

Calling yourself a realist is one of the biggest lies of 2016..

You clearly live in MTV land. That's the only "REAL WORLD" you seem to know.

You wouldn't know leadership, passion or heart if they ran you over..

Bunch of f.cking b.tches. I hope this thread doesn't get locked so we can call it up after they win another Lombardi. Just like after the KC game last season where half the board wanted Belichick and Brady gone and Garrapolo at QB and then acted like they were with them all along when they won the Super Bowl. Adios quitter b.tches, enjoy the drop into the Charles.
