The Pats defense is good, some big plays and a disappointing rate of takeaways notwithstanding.

The Pats special teams are good, problems over the past month or so notwithstanding.

Brady and Gronk are otherworldly.

Absent further injuries, the other four skill positions will be filled with an OK group, featuring rusty Edelman, rusty Jackson, rusty Amendola, young Martin and others.

Whether or not panic is called for depends entirely on one's hopes for the O-line.

Funny the O-line wasn't a huge issue when we were healthy everywhere else on O. Get Vollmer back and that fixes the Fleming atrocity. And Edelman won't "fix" the O line but his ability to get open quick will mask a lot of it. Not to mention open things up for Gronk and Dola. I've about given up on LaDrops. Will be interesting to see how Martin does with a healthy WR group and some experience now.

for 20 fan bases, tomorrow is the start of golf season even if the weather's freezing. Only 8 teams will be playing in 2 weeks and I'm glad the Patriots are one of them.
