OFFICIAL: Patriots at Jets Game Day thread

Looks to be all on Slater:

Again the issue is that he specifically says they want to kick into a specific direction and the ref still asks the Jets players where they want to receive.

You can see that this is where Slater suddenly freaks out about whats going on and not about kicking/receiving.

Listening to it again, I think Slater definitely wanted to say "kick off" (i.e. no mistake) but was arguing about direction.

522 error as other teams' trolls flood the board...enjoy your super bowl, chumps

have brady and you kick off. good one BB
the arrogance strikes again...

should of clinched against philly, blow another chance today. jesus

connection timed out..yippeee only happens when we lose

Bingo. Exactly.

I don't understand how so many people are missing this. Pretty sure BB will explain in press conference.

The exchange that could help send the Jets to the playoffs...
Slater wanted to determine the direction to kick not to get the ball. BB decided to kick off its on him. Worst coached worst prepared game of the year. Maybe ever. Just dumb

This one is all on the coaching.

The Pats elected to kick in past games, and I can see why in this game, they wanted to force a 3 and out and get the ball back in good position, it blow out in their faces, it happens.

Might Slater have said, "We want THE kickoff?" instead of "We want TO kickoff?" because he immediately said, "We won the coin toss, don't we get to choose?"

we need to have a bit more faith in the offense. last time they had the ball they figured it out a bit...i know bill was trying to play field position but we cant play coy all game

LOL.........we lost the game due to conservative play-calling, NOBODY getting open until it was critical (please football gods bring back Edelman and Amendola), O-Line getting trashed further with injuries, NO real attempt at a running game(understandable though)

Mental mistakes.........kneeling before the half after a weird TO(last one too) on the kickoff, OT was a cluster from the coin-toss to Tavon Wilson getting owned on a rub route for a huge gain. Plus that PI on Butler, that would've given us enough time to get a FG before the half, was phantom........he didn't grab with his hand it was just riding Decker's hip. Amazing that these 50/50 calls always screw US at the end of games...

I'm checking out. The only gutless, shameful, dissapointing (and the rest of the lame adjectives being used) effort is by the so called Pats fan trolls on this thread.

Oh it makes sense now. Slater wanted to kick, but they wanted to kick in a certain direction. You can't have both. You either kick/receive or choose the direction, can't choose both.

Did we want to kick because of the wind or something and Slater was trying to choose direction?

Love how Martin got called for OPI last week when he was 1 yard from the LOS, but this week a blatant OPI and the flag stays in the pocket.

That's a huge problem with these refs, ZERO consistency.

No we wanted to kick because we screwed uo

This x1000. People are raging on Slater, but I'm pretty sure he did exactly what he was told.

Doesn't help anybody watching that Dan Fouts was the confused person of all and we all he had listen to his babbling about it.....

The way we looked on offense somehow i think we still lose the game regardless.
