Very happy for Butler, Collins and Jones.

Hightower was snubbed big time though.

While I basically agree, Hightower has been missing some games, so "big time" may be an overstatement.

Glad to see Collins make it despite some time off himself. That's impressive.

I wonder if those idiots on patriots football weekly will go on about butler "having guys run free" on him. And the old "I just don't know about butler as a number one corner".

A more sophisticated diss would be to reflect on what happened to McCourty after he made the Pro Bowl as a rookie.

Topic number 1 on felger and mazz tomorrow

Felger is no idiot -- which makes the stupid things he says even less excusable than they'd otherwise be. He knows what he's doing wrong.

Is he doing something wrong? The dumber they get the more people tune in.

Honestly, I don't think so. I think he feels like NE will always be home. They gave him his only chance, they trusted him in the biggest of moments, and then trusted him enough to give him the opportunity to become the big name player he is becoming. If bill works to resign him sooner then later, I think hell take a home town discount. If he stays on this track, hell be making a lot of income off of endorsements. Think Gronk.

Which can be as soon as next month.

lulz. he's a second year player. from juco via Div 2. not like he has had much chance to be dissed.
I think the point was about life and not just NFL.

Like I said in my previous post, Collins has missed more games than Hightower so you can't throw that as a knock against him.

as was mine. what a pervasive sense of entitlement that a guy who has barely done anything is referred to as "finally" getting recognition. Like it's his due just for pulling on a uniform and making a couple of plays. This is the first season he's played regularly, so it's his first chance to do anything to earn recognition, not like he has been denied recognition deserved for past history.

Of course you can.

Accomplishment = (Accomplishment/game) * Games

So to the extent that Pro Bowl selections honor accomplishment, it's one of the relevant factors.

I'm afraid you lost me.

You agree with me, but don't agree "big time".

So I don't see how that has anything to do with my point that Hightower was snubbed.

Either way, this is an irrelevant conversation. Hightower was snubbed, end of story.

You realize that that /wasn't/ Malcolm you were talking to? Right? So this sense of entitlement you seem to think he has is entirely from your own mind.

But it was not a particularly great injustice.

It's going to be close, but I think Butler will make the cut for the All-Pro team:

I see the All-Pros as:

Norman
Peterson
Talib
Butler

Epic story

You see guys like Richard Sherman and Darrelle Revis being left out?

Ty Law
Asante Samuel
Devin McCourty (as a CB, rookie year)
Darrelle Revis
Malcom Butler

Do we finally have our pro bowl corner who is a LONG-TERM solution? I sure hope so!

Sherman possibly but Revis hasn't played at an All Pro level. All of his INTs are a right place, right time kind of things too.
