Seriously. I fear for the Futures of many'f you.

Even had we not won a single Crown, rooting for Mad Bill's Crew of Merry Men ere these last 15 Years would've been an inestimable Privilege. Jesus Please Us, folks: Only 1 in 32 Fans get to boast of a Ring in any given Year: What makes being a Fan awesome is not the random 1 in 32 Chance, but the Shared Battle: I traveled 90 minutes to my Bro's House to Do Battle alongside the Patriots today, and 90 minutes back. Had we got lambasted 222 to nothing, it still would've been a Privilege to root for this Team In Battle.

I beg'f Thee, Brothers and Sisters: Allay yourselves'f the Burden of High Expectorations.*

Enjoy The Ride...For it is indeed a Privilege.

*Many folks say "Expectations" when they actually mean "Standards".

I'm just poking fun.

I could give my familiar refrain about being a fan in the early 90's, but that will not make much difference this week.. as often the most recent events overshadow the "long game".

Might be time to take some time off on this board as there will be the predictable gloom and doom period following these losses.. Is BB too old and has the game passed him by?? Does BB know how to draft?? Is #12 on the downside??

It is what we as fans do.. wallow in the shyt when we fail to meet the standards of "great expectorations"...

This team sucks....I am going back to cheering for the Saskatchewan Rough Riders....or was it the Ottawa Rough Riders.

I'll just leave this here:

League championships (4)
Conference championships (8)
Division championships (17)
Fans leaving halfway through games in recent years...the only game I was at, the Saints game the year before last, people filed out and I was like, 'what are they doing man'.

We are in a bit of a funk now, and no doubt the Dry-heaver himself will be all over Fox Sports 1 saying "I put it out there first".

Gronk is coming back, Jules is coming back...White is showing, although he may be no Lewis, he also has his talents he brings to this team.

And we have the greatest Qb to ever play this position. For me, shore up this o-line pronto cause the last thing we need is Brady patting that ball....for me this is priority 1.

Every season deserves a stinker I suppose.

And now that's out of the way.....

I was more upset about the loss because I was hoping to be able to laugh at all the people streaming toward the exits midway through the fourth quarter. I'll never understand people who pay a small fortune to be there on game day not sticking it out until the end. Would have been fun to have seen them have to hear about the win either on the radio or on television while everyone else who stuck around were rewarded with an exciting win. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way.

Allay yourselves'f the Burden of High Expectorations
My mouth goes dry when I watch the OLine, RBs, and WR depth.....so I'm allayed.....oh yeah ..sometimes allayed twice if the mood is just right

You're absolutely right. I love this team and it's a privilege to watch them every Sunday.

We are also 10 and 2... not bad

I had me some cough syrup to help with those "expectorations".

Any Cough Syrup Helper ~ If You Know What I'm Saying And I Think You Do ~ or was it the Helper?

I've continued to confuse my wife

She decided to watch the last quarter and a half and did nothing but complain. I sat there taking it all in and when the 4th quarter started she asked me, "How can you sit here and watch this when they are down by 2- points"

I replied, "They already lost the game, the only thing they can do now is win it." It seemed to get the same type of reaction your car would give you if you were cruising 60mph and suddenly put it in reverse.

I'd say most of us enjoy it. It's the morning after that gets a lot of us. By Tuesday we are back on the BB bandwagon and onto the next opponent. Looking forward to the Pats getting back to their winning ways against the Texans.

Great post OP. I think a lot of us are just riding this emotional roller-coaster with the intensity magnified because of what happened during the offseason when we should have been enjoying a SB victory and instead had to listen to the media tell us what big cheaters our team and legendary QB were, with the NFL Front Office leading the charge trying to burn Brady at the stake.

This team is unbelievable and there will never be another like it in our lifetimes. . And we definitely have absurdly high expectations but for me it's because I desperately want Brady to win 1 more SB to cast away all the BS haters and go down as the undeniably best QB in the history of the game

Being a fan of this team since it's inception in 1960 has been an arduous journey. But, since 2001 it's been particularly rewarding, but, frankly, it's also been exhausting. The almost impossibly high standard this team is held to when combined with the unparalleled hatred from the rest of the country's fans and media results in alternating waves of exhilaration and frustration. Personally, I find the swings in emotion really challenging. I keep telling myself that nothing should trigger the level of anger and frustration I experience when watching a game like the last one. Then, I wonder how the result of a freaking football game like the last Super Bowl can provide the type of pleasure and satisfaction it did. With all of that said, I wouldn't for a second ever opt out of my fandom. Whenever, I get really pissed off and frustrated, I just think of what it must be like to be a Cleveland Brown fan. Then, of course, I realize that I know that feeling all too well. Because, except for a few anomaly years like '75, '86 and '96, I knew exactly how that felt because I was Patriot fan. Rant over.

Forgive me Grid for I have sinned.
I am driving from New Hamster to FL and I missed Sunday's game.
We lost...badly.
I also missed last season's KC game while traveling.
We lost...badly.
I am a bad, bad boy.
For my penance I promise to not miss any more Patriots games this season & post season.

What losing two games also does is force us to play out this year and become more efficient and hopefully better as a team. I love our team, even if we go in as a wildcard I like our chances. It would be funny if we did a big FU to the league after we clinch a playoff berth and rest the remaining games.
