There is something wrong with Williams' career from what I see. On the surface he has the size, and you'd think that as a 3rd round pick he'd project to be an eventual starter. Yet after losing his first year to an injury, BOTH the Texans and then the Jags gave up on him before September.
You have to ask the question why did the Texans give up on a 3rd round pick before September of his 2nd year. Then you have the question confirmed when he couldn't make it to September in TC with the Jags, a team you'd think would need some good young OL talent.
Based on the slim evidence at hand, you'd have to think that his issues were probably attitude or effort issues. I can't see any other reason for the Texans to get rid of him so quickly. The other possibility is a physical one, but if he had a physical problem that forced the Texans dump him so fast, I don't see how he shows enough in a work out to get signed by the Pats.
I mean its no big deal one way or the other, but I thought it was a little curious that his fall out of the league was so precipitous. But his back story with the fact his dad was an ex-Patriot who stayed in the area and that he is a CM grad, it would be a great story if he made the team. However based on the what we know, (which is almost nothing) I don't have high hopes long term.
