So what's the deal with Mason? Haven't heard anything before today?

The Shaq Mason injury is surprising. He was out there on the Pats' final few plays vs. Indy, and didn't seem to be hampered at all.

Reiss:
"the first sign that Slater avoided a scare came Tuesday when he walked through the locker room during the media-access period without the aid of crutches. Slater declined to comment to reporters that day.

Then Wednesday, Slater was present for the start of practice, going through drills with teammates at the start of the session (he was limited from an overall participation standpoint).

While Slater might still miss time, what looked like a potential serious injury instead is something that hasn't even knocked Slater out of a full practice."

don't like the fact that Sheard and half of the OL is missing a second straight day of practice, especially considering we're going up against the #1 D-line.

We are deep at Guard will miss Mason but it could be worse...I really like our current OL with Vollmer @ LT and Flemming @ RT. Both Vollmer and Flemming excell @ Run Blocking they are both Huge men. That said I would also sit Hightower this one don't like Big Guys with rib injuries. All those guys who will be out should be ready to go next Thursday Night. P.s. sucks having a Bye-week as early as we did pretty useless to us now.

If Mason doesn't play it will suck because he is awesome in the running game, but I expect we are going pass heavy anyway so Tre Jackson/Kline/Wendell will handle.

I'm more worried with Sheard and Hightower.

We want Dion Lewis at full speed Sunday afternoon I think him catching passes will work wonders against that Defense. Mevis can only take one player away.

I wondered if Slater's injury was less serious than it looked. He was in pain after the play but was shown standing on the sideline after. If the trainers thought it was a tear, my guess is he would have been carted into the locker room. Maybe just a sprain or even bad twist.

Sure, I just hope he can clear the backfield and get out to the flat faster than the Jets' D-line gets to Brady.

Thats a lot of "thump" on the pine....

Mason, Cannon, and Sheard did not practice today. That sucks.

Don't know....These guys are so freaking tough and have such a high tolerance for pain nothing would surprise me. Hell guys like Logan Mankins walk around without much of a limp and come to find out he had a blown ACL.

I'll feel a little more informed once I see him out there again.

danny you don't think the Jets D is a little overrated ie...look at who they have played...not exactly juggernauts on Offense. I know you play who's on your Schedule but I think If we played those same Teams in order we would be considered the 85 Bears Defense. I think playing an Elite Offense like ours will expose the Jets some.

I felt the same way. With the replay not showing a bad twist or bend and Slater standing on his own, I couldn't figure out what serious injury could possibly have happened.

Will Flowers ever play?

Cannon, Mason, Sheard just about guaranteed not to play Sunday...F#CK.....
