It dawned on me the Colts fans and Indianapolis in general loves to refer to the "4 and 2" game all the time as though it is some kind of highlight in the "rivalry" in their minds. What a perfect name for this game going forward as a retort the "4th and 3" game.

Is that like a viritual participant banner for them?

Some will disagree, but I consider 4th and 2 to be like Seattle's decision to pass at the goal line. They are defensible choices, possibly the correct choice, that no one can accept due to the outcome.

Unfortunately for them, it won't be even remembered as the worst Pats-Colts game this calendar year (AFCC) or this season (When they come to Foxboro in the diviosnal round and get blown out again

Bill should've run twice, on 3rd down & 4th down, in that 2009 game.

The best part about the 4th and 2 game is that it helped the Colts move on and get beat by the Saints... And Manning threw a pick six to lose the game.

Yes it was 09. Weird year
If it weren't for Brady and BB that team would have probably been among the worst in the league. Lethargic defense and a mediocre running game.

Just shows you the greatest of those two.

mediocre is a very generous way to describe that running game. I will say that 09 team did randomly drop 59 on the titans

That is true there was that game. But I consider that a game where all the cosmos lined up just right. Mother Nature shocked the systems of the Titans with the October blizzard and we pounced on it.

they actually blew out a few team that year; Tampa week 7, jets week 11 and jaguars week 16. Really weird year, but I think that was more because of how easy their schedule was that year. They played a bunch of bad to medicore teams and lost to just about every team that had a .500 or better record, Indi and NO were the only good teams they played and they lost both those games. The only reason I really think about that season is because of the A football life movie on Belichick.

That Saints game was a disaster.

I remember on the Football Life episode at the end of that game, paraphrasing here, BB basically just was watching with Brady and went "I can't get these players to play the way I want them to. Just uninspired."

Boy how things have changed.

Unlike the Seahawks play call in the Super Bowl, I Dont think the play call deserved to be questioned - short pass to Kevin Faulk in the flat was pretty much a "money play" and Faulk was called a Colts killer by Herm Edwards - Just a great defensive play by the Colts.

What the Boston media really focused on was that by not punting, Belichik was admitting that he didn't believe his defense could stop Manning and close out the game

Also this game still forever be known as the funt game

I suspect only to those who aren't old enough to know who this is. I, for one, can't get used to it. Smacks too much of a Spygate joke setup, for one thing.
