It is easy to accept that TB is picky, perhaps to the point of obsession or superstition about how he likes footballs. Routine, consistency, and endless repetition contribute to his precision. To the point of having the balls doctored?

Then why would he want the balls to be DIFFERENT for away games than home games?

If that tiny mythical, butterfly fart sized puff of air would make any difference in his delivery, why would he ASK for inconsistency in the footballs?

He wouldn't. You're right, it doesn't make any sense at all. Not to take a dig at McNally, but he looks like he could have been pushing 300 pounds and he's in his late 40s. And I think he's a beer distributor who works part time for the Pats. And from his text messages and other things I have heard of him, he's kind of a clown, always making immature jokes.

As I said, I'm not intending to insult him at all. But who in their right mind would give him the task of breaking NFL rules to sneak off with the balls and then go ninja like to rapidly deflate each ball a tiny, but precise amount on the floor of a small bathroom? It is just so absolutely incredibly absurd. And to think an obsessive perfectionist like Brady would assign him to this task to take two or three tenths of a psi out of the balls only at home games?

It's so absurd that it's mind boggling. And yet as you stated, it is underdiscussed as it got lost in the rest of the ********.

Not sure it is underdiscussed if you read every angle of this inane discussion, this has been bought up by many fans on this forum..

On the biggest stage last year in the 4th quarter with "properly" inflated footballs against the defense labelled "the greatest of all time", he was incredible.. with the right PSI balls. This year 5 games is proof positive that football inflation gives Brady no competitive advantage..

What I think was underdiscussed was the lack of the media interviewing Hoyer, Cassell, Mallett, O'Connell and the rest of the back up quarterbacks regarding the alleged malfeasance of #12... the mediots completely missed that angle. Instead they engaged in mastubatory circles all thinking they knew more than the other mediot and collectively all knew more than any else.. the "smartest" guys in the room are not.

Patriots Haters will claim McNally's appearance gives him the perfect cover. If the Wells report addressed that and theorized that he may have an array of hidden skills, like Chris Farley in Beverly Hills Ninja, people would believe it.

In addition, you would think there would be a significant difference between not just Brady's performance at home versus on the road, but for the entire offense - noticeably more fumbles, more drops, more interceptions, more incompletions. That difference doesn't exist because there was no tampering.

My vote for an under discussed point is the league ignoring the PSI drop in the Colts footballs. According to the appeal hearing testimony, Vincent, Kensil and company had no idea about the Ideal Gas Law. Their mindset was that, if the pressure in the Patriots footballs was lower than the original setting, they must have been tampered with. When they checked the Colts balls, all of them were below their original 13 PSI setting, according to both gauges. Per the assumption Vincent and Kensil were operating under, that must have meant someone tampered with the Colts footballs, also.

Instead of giving them pause and making them wonder if there was something going on they hadn't considered (the laws of physics), the NFL reps ignored that information and pressed on with their goal of framing the Patriots. You can see that in the leaks to Mortensen and King, where they claimed the PSI of the Colts footballs remained unchanged, when they knew that was untrue.

Close... seems like everything belongs to Disney these days. It's why you saw the Star Wars trailer on MNF, last night. The Star Wars franchise and ESPN are both owned by Disney.

Undoubtedly this is why ESPN is so spineless and spiteful; it is forced to take its marching orders from a company that was built on a fictional cartoon character.

It was bought up on several threads as well as the fact that why would Brady want all the balls to be different? There's no way that in the short time frame any one would be able to let out a consistent amount of air from 13 balls. But common sense and factual evidence never had a role in this debacle.
