Makes sense but was never enamored with the DVOA or DYAR stuff, glad they quantify it.. but it gets a tad complicated...
I prefer my eyeball test, and many quarterbacks either look really good, marginal or bad.. things like clock management, recognizing defenses, audibles, being in control of the game, completing passes are the best qualities..
I think, because DVOA ranked the PIttsburgh defense absolutely awful, meaning while Gronk does well, it's not good enough against that defense compared to other players who played better defenses.

I'm surprised Gronk isn't among the most valuable WR/TE with 3 TD, 3 first downs (including a 50+ yarder) and a drawn def holding. Or Edelman with 8 first downs and a drawn DPI
Gronk was 12th, which is still very good considering there were 81 WRs/TEs with at least five targets this week. He is hurt by three incompletions, especially one on second-and-1.
Edelman was 8th. Take away his 5-yard loss, and he would have been second.
