Statement by Steelers President Art Rooney II on James Daniel

"We have conducted an internal inquiry into the alleged incident involving Assistant Coach James Daniel at the Patriots stadium Thursday night. After interviews with Coach Daniel as well as other personnel who witnessed the alleged encounter, we find no corroboration that Coach Daniel was involved in any physical altercation with a fan.

Coach Daniel has worked as an assistant coach for the Steelers for the past 12 seasons. We have a high level of confidence in his character and are confident that any further investigation of this incident will reveal he was not part of any assault or misconduct involving a Patriots fan."

Gofundme for the Pats fan to hire an attorney?

So Belicheck says the same thing about Brady how he didnt do anything and we should have all done the same and move on

RIGHT......

So much for the NFL learning from their prior investigative processes...

With all the camera's and cellphones in Gillette there must be some video evidence of this situation...

OTOH you could send out Kensil to investigate:

Kensil: "Coach Daniels did you do this completely fabricated activity that this crazed Pats fan is lying about?""

Coach Daniels: "No Mike that crazed Pats fan is a nut job and a liar, just like their coach.BTW did the NFL notice it was raining harder on the Steelers side of the field???"

Kensil: "OK Coach Daniels that is good enough for us, you are all set, we have alerted Exponent to investigate that rain allegation".. thanks for cooperating and btw will not need your cell phone.

So the Steelers are trying to make this a he said, he said situation....and of course everyone in the media will buy it, because its the beloved Rooney's saying it.....

There has to be video of what is being alledged.

That'll settle this.

It most likely happened in the club seat lounge (coaches in the booth have to walk through it to go to the locker rooms at halftime). I am sure there are tons video cameras in there. I would assume at least one caught the incident. Might be tough to catch the kick, but it should at least have caught the interaction between Daniels and the fan.

The guy is protecting his job. Of course he's going to say that.

Didn't someone say he yelled at a cop?

Although we don't know the details, the fact that "the police" was waiting for him tells me that someone made a statement to them and filing false statements to the police is a crime. Something happened we just don't know how bad or insignificant it was yet.

Goodell opened Pandora's box with his HS principal disciplinarian role. He is now suspending players for alleged violations even when charges are dropped or no charges are filed at all. He just suspended the former Jets guy now playing for the Bills on a locker room incident where no charges will ever be filed. What is he going to do now? Will he treat this incident differently?

Has the name of the allegedly assaulted fan surfaced yet? I haven't seen a name or an interview.

I would love it if there is video being held back until after the NFL issues and all clear. That would be funny to have to see them backtrack.

Has a team, that was allowed to investigate themselves, EVER been found guilty?
