Brady must have one hell of a poker face. Surprised he didn't start laughing for 10 minutes straight after saying that garbage

We get to be the assh.les about it, Brady is really wise to be gracious as it could lead to further crumbling from the owners and the removal of the appeal.

He's a true gentlemen in my book. Say's more about him putting it behind him.

He's our quarterback.

Like the deflater text you have to take everything in context. He was likely referencing goodell to all the fiber he has been eating that contributed to the bowel movement he had earlier.

The key here: He said "commissioner" and "his job". He did NOT say Goodell, like the headlines paraphrase. He has respect for the position. I think not mentioning Goodell was intentional. You respect the 'office of the presidency', though not necessarily the current clown in office (like Bush).

I wouldn't be this diplomatic. Good for Brady for keeping his composure. But, as mentioned, he said "commissioner". He can't have any respect for RG.

No matter how bad things are, Brady doesn't allow his circumstances to determine who he is.

He has every right to condemn Roger Goodell for putting him and family through this hell. Goodell does not care what he does to other people. He has no empathy for the fans, the players, or for the people whose lives he's hurt. I don't know the man personally, but he strikes me as a kind of monster. And there's no other person he's done more to hurt than Brady.

I'm not sure Tom is at a point where he can really forgive the Commissioner, but he is refusing to be anything less than his best, most honorable self. And I'll take his word over anyone else in sports.

Being a fan of his, I certainly am biased towards liking him. But no other public figure or celebrity has done more to deserve the trust and admiration of his fans. I hope Tom can put this whole mess behind him, and I look forward to seeing what awaits him in the future.

Goodell does this too. They're both uppity rich dudes, they're not going to talk **** in public. Even in private, they're probably always sugarcoating it with "I respectfully disagree" stuff just like this. It's just part of looking professional, or something.

He should have just smiled, said that he imagines that being commissioner of the National Football League is a difficult job, and then went on to the next question.

So is this Brady or is this Kraft whispering in Brady's ear to let things get back to normal? Because I think Goodell would rather eat Brady's liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

I think he probably threw up in his mouth while saying it, but.....

“I certainly have a great amount of respect for the Commissioner, and what his job is. My job is to be the best quarterback that I can be, so that’??s what I’??m going to try to be on Thursday.”

I respect his ability to suck at his job and make over $40M per year. I respect the fact that if the morons who hired this dimwit fire him, they have to give him a $150M severance package.

Brady is going to powerbomb Goodell off the stage next February.

But Goodell is doing it too. didn't Goodell recently call Brady a "fine young man" while also calling him a liar?

Brady is a bigger man than me, however with slime like roger it means nothing as Kraft found out . Rog doesn't understand about honor, integrity and sportsmanship . And he like many others just cant compute how the Pats do it . "Uriah Heep is not a person; he's an evil machine. He's like a really slow-acting version of the Terminator, bent on the destruction of anyone and everyone who has it better than him. "

This is the predictable choice, but I wish he hadn't made it.

That said, all is redeemed if, next February, he files a defamation suit, or else sends over lawyers' letters demanding apologies and retractions with strongly implied threats of legal action.

He also has stuck himself with the need to go through this season saying "I'm completely innocent; I'm glad it all worked out in the end; I don't want to talk about it any more. Next question!"

I'd wish he'd file the defamation sooner, but it would be a huge distraction. One benefit of it being sooner, if Goodell creates a hostile work environment/retaliation it would only benefit Brady. It would make the NFL* more cautious (one would hope, but probably not) and might even cause them to stay a bit further away (refs, ...)

not to mention it would being telling Goodell, I don't bow to you and I'm going to take you down.

By acting a little bit like the priest his Dad almost became, it just reinforces to the public who the aggressor is.
