Stupid reactions to the Berman decision

I think he was just trying to be funny...but yeah, it's kinda of a lame thing to say, considering that his team can't even make the playoffs!

yeah but tynes was talking trash before the super bowl against NE as well. He said the pats were going to lose in arizona because they had a "history" of losing there in big games.

This has to be the dumbest reaction.

Lawrence Tynes is saying on Twitter that if Goodell wanted to defeat Brady he should have brought in the Giants. Stupid loser doesn't have a job anymore and he's talking trash.

They brought in the Giants owner (which is as close as they could get) and Brady still won.

The Colts reaction was to hang another banner.

They have also switched to Comic Sans font.

OK, let me get this straight: In the NFL, it's a big no-no to throw a tantrum in a strip club, but no problem if a star quarterback throws a deflated football in the AFC championship game. And that's why Broncos safety T.J. Ward will be suspended for the season opener, but Tom Brady was issued a get-out-of-jail-free card to play on national television for New England.

Hey, don't ask me to explain it. This is the messed-up football world that commissioner Roger Goodell created. Blame him.

Brady skates and another Bronco gets busted.

"My last name's not Brady," said Ward, explaining why he's the player who will be forced to sit out a game.

He also stated its unfair to punish him for being accused of something...

You don't say? - Tom Brady.

Chris "Find a Fall Guy" Carter on Mike & Mike this morning (I was channel surfing when I heard this one, and then quickly moved on- honest).

"Well it might have been different if Wells had been more thorough in his investigation....."

Pandering to the know-they-are-guilty-but-dont-have-any-evidence crowd, and member of the doubling-down-on-stupid fraternity.
Why is is that ESPN suspended Schilling but not Carter? Schilling made a somewhat, but not egregiously so, outrageous political comment (with which I don't agree) while Carter urged NFL rookies to suborn justice.

The context of Shillings comment was accurate but that topic requires much more than 120 characters to explain.

What Carter said was much more disturbing.

How convenient that Jackie MacMullan now supports Brady. When ESPN first dumped the dirt on Brady, she was one of the first to say he should be strung up for the crime. She used the qualifier "if", but made it clear that he was guilty. She's dead to me.

Here's the challenge. Many are saying that Brady got off on a technicality and never proved is innocence. But the NFL denied Brady a fair and impartial review of the charges. Even so, the “ Independent” Wells report was ambiguous at best (quotes are Berman’s). By the time we got through the Goodell appeal charade and to Berman's courtroom, it was no longer permitted to litigate what had actually happened to the footballs; the charges were no longer on the table and Brady was only allowed to argue process. Berman's ruling eviscerated Goodell's process and the "independent" investigation. That ruling confirms that he was denied the opportunity for a fair hearing. What else can Brady do at this point to prove his innocence, something one shouldn't need to do in America?

It gets worse....

Interesting factual nugget: Richard Berman's former law-firm colleague Stephen Case is on Columbia's BOT Emeriti with ... Robert Kraft.

So the NFLPA somehow duped the NFL into filing their appeal in NY so that they could get Judge Berman, who is 3 degrees separated from Stephen Case and 7 degrees from Kevin Bacon, to ensure the judgement would go their way? Kessler is much more brilliant than I originally thought.

Begs to question, is Kevin Bacon a Patriots fan?

Exactly!! He was punished by Roger who used the findings of an investigation that was edited by the NFL and then denied the right to challenge that report fairly.

Brady really fought this all the way. Wow.

Holy ****. Can sense the Patriots hate tears from here. This is arguably the most idiotic thing I've read in the last few days.

Just ignore the fact that if the nfl had its way Brady would be out 4 games. Him and Ward are basically crying because Ward was an idiot and did something that got him suspended.

Lurked at the New Orleans Saints forums and the responses are just as heavy as PF.
  • They hate Goodell just as much
  • Some hate NE, but usually less than Goodell
  • They are envious they did not go to court over BountyGate and wondering if they can still do it

Bob Ryan hates the Pats because he used to be king of the hill when the Celtics were the biggest fall/winter team in this town. He has become irrelevant since this has become a Patriots town and the Celtics went on a 15 year long slump.

He is worse than the national haters because he pretends to be a Boston homer and that the national people can bring on to show that even the "fair and balanced" Boston media think the Patriots are cheaters. But he is as big of a Patriots hater as Mark Brunnell.

Here's the thing about this prevalent stupidity that makes my head hurt.

Guys like Ryan, and Greenberg, and TONS of these guys, do this thing where they say "well, it's the Pats, and you know, it wasn't reasonable, but something was probably going on." Ryan was even so stupid as to mention Dungy "and other teams" talking about bugging the locker room. BASED ON NOTHING. But just "stuff" "Sure hear a lot of questionable stuff about the Pats."

I'd love for these guys to have this done to them. Would only take, say, two people. I would say, "You know, I've heard Roger is a child molester." And then someone else would say, "yeah, I think maybe he's a child molester."

From that, we could say, "Look Roger, nobody is saying definitively you're a child molester. There really isn't any lock-solid proof of it. But we've all heard the accusations, and you've been seen around an awful lot of kids, ok? So....look, you probably are. At least a little bit. You know, doing a little molesting on the weekends probably. But I guess we can't prove it. So....see you later. Have a nice day. Perv."

There are some people in the Seattle area that still say Brady cheated AND the superbowl title should be vacated.

The only thing left in Deflategate is to see what the halftime measurements of footballs are when they start tracking that this year. Hopefully the NFL is transparent with that data (not holding my breath) and we see, as expected, that they are all ~1.0 PSI under in a 30 degree temperature drop.

I think that is the only thing left that has a chance to change public perception. Until then, there is nothing left to report; there will be no new news or revelations. These articles will keep popping up, the haters will still say that Brady got off on a technicality and cry and whine, Patriots fans will hold strong in defending ourselves, and people's minds won't change one way or another.

Personally, given that we've won, I'm done with the whole thing. I've spent way too much mental energy on this and am ready to focus on the field and the games and watch the greatest quarterback ever play on Sundays. No one has anything new left to say and I won't waste any time reading any more of these tired articles.
