Do you feel Bill O'Brien would be a great Head Coach to succeed Belichick?

  • Yes

  • No

  • Maybe, it depends on how well he does with the Texans

I've heard a few people suggest that Bill O'Brien would be a great guy to follow BB when he retires. Do you agree?

He needs to execute in HOU first.

With that said I do like him. However, his jawing/yelling back and forth with TB12 that time does make me wonder if he is even-keeled. Hes a strong personality and a passionate dude. That might get the best of him or his act might get old. Don't know.

This doesn't make much sense. If he's good he'll stay in Houston, if not he'll probably get canned. Coaches rarely voluntarily leave teams.

I think the next coach should have a strong background in special teams. Our team building and ability to make room for the Izzos and Slaters really set us apart from other franchises. I would also consider Caserio.

Why do we assume any coach we want will just quit his job the minute BB retires to replace him?

like who?

Wasn't that how Belichick became head coach for the Pats?

I disagree. It happens more often than you realize

Caserio was extended through 2020 making more money than any GM in the league. When BB is gone, Caserio will be running the show. The next head coach will report to Caserio.

Does that mean Caserio will have final say on who gets drafted? I wonder how "Angry Irishman" O'Brien would feel about that

I like McDaniels. I think he learned a valuable lesson in Denver that he needs to be Josh and not little Bill.

McDs problem was that no one backed him in Denver. The owner is a ****y. He also lost games. Lol.

i didn't like his SB46 game plan.

Wouldn't be against it if the time was right now, but everyone should be prepared for the fact that whatever is next, at coach and quarterback, will be a step down.

It will never be this good again.

We didn't have Gronk. And, our defense couldn't get off the field. What did you want to do differently? What did you think of Josh's game plan in SB 42?

josh's game plan in SB 42 wasn't great but he redeemed himsf in SB49.

BOB should have gone no huddle for most of the game against the giants since NY struggled with that during 2012. they just let the giant offense dictate the clock.

For those of us who remember intimately the the 1989-1992 Patriots that is as bad as it gets. Poisonous. Rotten. Hopeless. Lifeless. Embarrassing.

I don't see what O'Brien has done to distinguish himself as "special." I'm not very impressed with his hothead antics on "Hard Knocks" either.

The only problem with this, is that the Patriots couldn't get first downs consistently. They did try a bit of it in the first quarter, but the :22 3-and-outs were killing the defense.
