The NFLPA lose round one. Judge Kyed has ordered the case to be moved to Manhattan. I would assume the NFLPA will appeal this decision.

Only way I could see us losing is if they don't hear the case. No idea how they could overlook dozens of CBA violations.

Amazing. The NFL delays the decision for a month so they can file immediately after.

Honestly, I don't think it'll make much of a difference, anyway. Labor law is labor law.

Well we've been in the NFL's court up to this point. It was never going to go our way.

The Manhattan Federal Court and the Judge assigned to the NFL suit are not know for being pro big business and conservative. The NFL preferred Manhattan to MN, but it isn't like they filed in a court that is clearly biased to their plight.

I'm not sure why the judge threw in that he didn't get why they would file in Minnesota. No reason to ignore the history involved.

I am fine with it. It is all about the kind of judge you get. It looks like they are getting a liberal judge that is pro union. I don't believe a federal judge even if he turns out to be a NY sports fan would let that influence him.

The NFLPA had a preferred venue. It wasn't a "Minny or we're through!" desperation move.

I can't think of a district court I hate more than SDNY. Some really, really awful **** has come out of there in the past 15 years. None of the cases I care about were related to labor though so I'm not sure where the majority of their judges tend to sit on that. It comes off as a pretty reserved court all around so I imagine the case being there isn't great for the NFLPA.
