@FieldYates: The Dolphins have signed QB Ryan Tannehill to a contract extension through 2020.

@AdamSchefter: Dolphins are giving QB Ryan Tanehill a six-year, $96 million extension that includes $45 million guaranteed, per league source.

At the first moment I was like WAT? Then I realized we are already in 2015 so it's a 5 year contract. Time flies...

Anyway, that will eat the already limited cap space they have, for a QB who can't connect for 20 yards. Lolphins.

Please befor stupid money.

Literally was going to post the same thing. 2020 sounds like it's far away for some reason.

Anyone know where Brady's remaining 3 yr 45 million dollar contract ranks among QBs in $ per year?

I don't think he is top 16.

Tanehill is a decent Qb, obviously has his flaws but has improved every year after only playing qb 1 year in college.

Pretty standard contract for middle of the pack qb with potential to be even better as it goes on.

Eh. Almost all the metrics put him pretty much exactly in the middle of the pack.

Per a league source, Tannehill receives $21.5 million fully guaranteed at signing.

Another $3.5 million becomes fully guaranteed in March 2016, and another $3.5 million becomes fully guaranteed in 2017. The rest of the guarantees ($16.5 million) become fully guaranteed in 2018.

As a practical matter, then, Tannehill will get $25 million fully guaranteed over the next two seasons — unless the Dolphins cut him before next March and let him walk away with $21.5 million over one year

I have always like Tannehill, he always looked like a bigger version of Wilson on a crappier team with a ****ty coach.
That being said, WOW, that's a lot of moola for a middling QB.
