Statement from Robert Kraft
Statement from Robert Kraft: “Despite our conviction that there was no tampering with footballs, it was our intention to accept any discipline levied by the league. Today’s punishment, however, far exceeded any reasonable expectation. It was based completely on circumstantial rather than hard or conclusive evidence.

“We are humbled by the support the New England Patriots have received from our fans throughout the world. We recognize our fans’ concerns regarding the NFL’s penalties and share in their disappointment in how this one-sided investigation was handled, as well as the dismissal of the scientific evidence supported by the Ideal Gas Law in the final report.

“Tom Brady has our unconditional support. Our belief in him has not wavered.”

Alright then. Hopefully this means the team is not taking this laying down... which IMO is not that different than saying "yes we cheated"

While it's ostensibly disappointing he doesn't directly state they will fight the sanctions, I think it's clear this is a prelude to something much bigger. Reading between the lines, it's drawing a deep line in the sand. Let's see what happens.

Keep in mind when reading this: Kraft/the Patriots have no recourse on penalties levied against them. The picks, the money, that's gone, there's no fight there.

Better than I expected, to be honest. We'll see what it comes to, whether Kraft can do anything behind the scenes or if this is just lip service. Regardless, the next few months and the appeal/arbitration will be interesting.
