Yeah, OK, I get the spirit of it. But let's look at what passes for "reporters" these days and see if there is much difference. In fact, most of the posters here are more responsible, in part because they aren't getting paid more when someone clicks to read their posting.

The Peter King series of posts in this thread is proof positive. That was more misleading than anything one of us has said here.

Yeah I get it, I was just trying (and failed) to help us more easily slog through the mud. Failed attempt obviously. Don't really feel like arguing over it though.

Tried saying it last night, woke up to 12 notifications calling me an idiot.

He is motivated by money and isn't as fierce a competitor as Brady or for a comparison of someone that plays the same position, Dion Sanders. 13,14,15 mil versus whatever the Jets give him for the chance to win multiple championships? And he says no to go to a garbage franchise? That says everything.

I hope being around Brady rubbed off on him.

In the end, I think he ends up back here BB is probably going BEYOND what he wants to pay him.

My take (and i'm no expert) is that this is all gamesmanship being played through the media.

Revis obviously hasn't signed a deal and is pressing the 2 sides to get the maximum dollars. I believe he is more interested in joining the Pats, but "more" money can and will make him walk.

The Patriots have basically responded (telling sources they believe he'll sign with the Jets) that they have basically reached their maximum offer.

now it's a matter of Revis deciding how much he prefers money over winning and a chance to immortalize himself in football history (winning SBs). Nobody knows his thoughts on that or what the tipping point is on that scale.

Bottom line for me......... Unless he gets ridiculously more $$ from the JEST then he would have from NE, if he signs with them.......... He'll be dead to me. Just another hired gun to be used as a pawn in our 14+ years of continued dominance and he'll be a great player who retired with one ring.............. that he only got because he played on the team with the GOAT QB.

That said.......... I am still holding out hope he signs back with us.

If Revis signs with the Jets, his one ring will be looked at as a footnote when you look at his career 10 years from now.

Played on the loser Jets, was the best corner in the NFL for 2-3 years, then had to go to New England where BB and Brady carried him to his only ring, and then continued to rot in new york for another 5 years.

I have never blamed someone for trying to get the most money they can before their careers are over and I won't do it with revis either. Its a selfish and idiotic way of thinking to tell a guy to turn down millions just so he can play for your favorite team. I hope he stays, but if he leaves for more money I won't hate him or blame him.
