Was listening to Gresch and Zo and they had part of a Pete Carroll press conference, apparently he asked for clarification of the rule regarding ineligible and ineligible receivers... channeling Harbaugh.

Carroll announced that in the SB the ref will stand over the ineligible or eligible receiver and perform some type of symbolic satanic ritual on the ineligible receiver, so the Hawks do not get confused...

Why have a competition committee??? If I were BB and his braintrust would me mightily pissed..

Belichick is actually a reasonably intelligent person who is very competent at his job. There's naturally going to be conflict between the two. He must participate in such eligible or ineligible position as long as he is continuously in the game, but prior to each play he must again report his status to the Referee, who will inform the defensive team. The game clock shall not be stopped, and the ball shall not be put in play until the Referee takes his normal position. RETURNING TO ORIGINAL POSITION

But they are though. If they make an extra lineman a TE, he has to declare as eligible. They will use this if the plan is to run on the 'Hawks (not a bad way to attack their D).

I was under the clear impression that we would not see it again, particularly when the other team has two weeks to prepare for the game and the league has already zeroed in on it.

it served its purpose. Now the seahawks spent time preparing for something the pats likely wont use. Lets see what other tricks BB has up his sleeve
