With the @mortreport revelation 11 balls were under inflated by 2psi. Sounds like they were under inflated when given to officials

This makes all the difference in the world if true. At least in terms of how I view this whole thing. It's one thing if, intentionally or not, they were given to the officials at a certain inflation level or if they were surreptitiously deflated after the officials examined them.

Where's that line from? Is it in the thread and I missed it, or is it from the media?

Mort:
Chris Mortensen? @mortreport
NFL has found that 11 of the Patriots footballs used in Sunday’s AFC title game were under-inflated by 2 lbs each, per league sources.

Big question, which isn't answered in that quote...

Were they 2 PSI too low during the game? That doesn't bother me too much, given the temp-related pressure loss already discussed.

Or were they 2 PSI too low when measured at indoor temps after the game? That would Not Be Good.

Oh surprise, the Ravens are chiming in.

As NFL investigates Deflate-gate would be wise to speak to Ravens. Some there believe kicking balls used in their playoff game underinflated

Even though per the information earlier this week, each team supplies their own footballs. Not point in letting facts get in the way of a good story, or a good whining.

This pisses me off to no end.

Why the hell do we always have to push the ****ing rules. Especially against inferior opponents.

In the large scheme of things the PSI in the balls doesn't effect much, but now we once again have to deal with the god damn perceptions?

Seriously Bill, stop with this ********.

This isn't good if found that Pats DID in fact do something with the balls, knowingly...

Dont the official check all the balls before the start of the game themselves?

They are supposed to, and they are supposed to inflate/deflate them to spec if they are out of range.

Feels like something bigger is in play here especially after Rodgers comments.

Do the refs just overlook the rulebook for certain QBs and let the top guys use any ball in any style they want? Did this come from the league to promote their all-offense-no-defense philosophy?

There appeared to be less air in some kicking balls which may have had an impact on the depth of punts and kickoffs in AFC Divisional game

An NFL spokesman said as of tonight they had no knowledge of a Ravens complaint about the kicking balls from their playoff game
Wait, wouldn't underinflated kicking balls result in shorter kicks? Do the teams have separate kicking balls too or are they shared? And if they are shared, are they provided by the home team?

As if the haters needed more reason to hate! Now the public will root for the Seahawks, who will be labeled "the good guys!"

Seen 'em like 10 times. 1st time was '86, only original member was Iommi. W.A.S.P opened for them. Portland. When to every Ozzfest from '99 to '08.

Black Sabbath was Metallica before whoever has taken the banner now (Lacuna Coil, Godsmack(ish))

Rage on!!! I'm old school. Love it!

This, of course balls being pounded and spiked for the duration of a game are going to be under inflated. They need the measurements of the balls just before the opening kickoff to compare them too.

Without that (not saying they DIDN'T do that) this investigation is incomplete.
I wonder what sort of stress a player like Blount falling on the ball 30 times exerts.

So the Ravens were cheating too deflating their own balls?

No it isn't. That would be hard to defend.

Boo HOO HOO!

I still don't care

I thought each team supplied its own footballs.

We don't know if this was intentional, but if it is then it's a pretty absurd thing to do. This was a team we have owned for a while. We didn't need this meaningless "advantage."

If they do find that it was intentional, Bill may not coach a game in 2015. Not to mention this will be a distraction for the remainder of this season.

I thought each team supplied its own footballs.

Each team supplies its own balls, but the ballboys on both sidelines are paid by the home team.
