When Owen Daniels scored late in the first half, he spiked the ball and it went four or five rows into the end zone stands. A bunch of fans around the guy who caught it began yelling and gesturing for him to throw it back onto the field. I know this is done all the time in baseball when fans toss back home run balls, but it's got to be tempting to keep a playoff game NFL football regardless. Anyway, after obviously thinking about it a few seconds, he threw it back.

Wanna talk about your awkward situation......

I likely would've done the same but man it would be tempting

However I would make a deal with the Devil to get that Edelman TD toss ball......

Someone on Reddit got the LaFell TD ball and all the replies were telling him to get in contact with the Pats because it was a record breaking TD for Brady.

Amendola just dropped the ball in the end zone and walked away. I thought Edelman would've wanted it, but he didn't go after it.

Should have put it on eBay instead

Hell I'd chance certain jail time just to run out on the end zone for that ball

Truthfully I'd be smitten to have just been there when Amendola caught it with miles of daylight in front of him......Gillette was shaking the earth, almost as awesome as the Bruschi "Snow-Ball Toss" TD

i was there and didn't notice that. we were all too pissed to care.

honestly, i probably would have kept it and sold it to get some money towards a super bowl trip

Take it FWIW, but here's what Peter King had to say about it:

McDaniels pulled out a call that—for the first time in my visits to the 13-year-old New England stadium—made the stadium shake noticeably. From the Patriots’ 49, Edelman, an option quarterback in college at Kent State, went in motion from right to left, and at the snap, Brady threw a backward pass across the formation to him. Edelman took a running step forward, baiting cornerback Rashaan Melvin on that side.

I'm pretty sure that either the Pats or Brady would trade some serious swag for that ball.

What a lucky basstud......

I could only imagine negotiating with Brady on the phone.......that is until Belichick pulled a "Jedi Mind Trick" on me and convinced me to take a bag of Funyuns for it

I'd have been tempted to keep the ball too, but that would be quite tough when hundreds of fans around you are yelling at you to throw it back!

It's not like you can just slink back down into your seat and tuck it in your jacket. That thing is going back on the field, no matter what.

I am a collector and would of not given in to the crowd. That's a once in a lifetime moment to get a NFL touchdown football.

I caught a World Series ball (just a foul) a couple of years ago at Fenway. I looked around, found a kid, called him over and gave it to him.

The people around me thought I was insane.

I'd probably have put it away and forgotten about it - he'll treasure it, I hope. He'll show it off to his friends - my friends would just smack me for not giving them the other tickets!

Here's what that ball looks like now ...

I don't think Brady cares about that stuff much tbh. Itd be a classy gesture to offer it but the bigger meaning was it was the game winner.

Imagine trying to pull that one off if the Rat-Birds had won.......YIKES! You'd better hope Nationwide is on your side
