I love all this hand wringing over backup wide receivers.

Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos #4 and #5 wide receivers have a combined 6 receptions on 14 targets.

Refer to Andre Caldwell and Cody Latimer for further verification.

Welker is currently the WR3 in Denver. Despite missing games, and clearly not being himself post-concussion, he's got 30 receptions. Amendola, the Patriots WR3, has 11 receptions.

The hand-wringing, as you call it, is wholly appropriate.

Do you know what is amendola's percentage vs welker in regards to pass attempts caught/targeted/thrown? I'm just guessing manning has way more pass attempts than Brady cos they don't have Jonas Gray.

I responded to Tippett based upon receptions, because I didn't know where he'd gotten his targeting numbers from. However, on Pro-football-reference.com, Welker is listed at 30 catches in 43 targets (70%), while Amendola is at 11 catches in 18 targets (61%).

Welker is ahead of

Gronk 53/80 (66%)
Vereen 35/53 (66%)
LaFell 39/67 (58%)
Edelman 59/87 (68%)

in that stat.

I don't know. Seems like two guys competing for the fourth WR slot is an extreme presence of depth!

Gee whiz, It takes someone to point out the obvious around here. Well done.

It would be fun to see someone else get involved in the receiving game. I don't personally care who gets involved, just somebody diffrent

lmao ... why? Do complete blow outs make you sad?

Who really gives a **** who's catching balls as long as their winning ... winning is fun.

yes but the more the merrier

I don't see Tyms becoming a major threat until Brady stops consistently overthrowing the deep ball 1-3 feet.

He had major pressure in his face vs the Colts on the INT targeting Tyms. That one actually looked underthrown

Drops happen.
QBs and OCs can live with drops as long as the receiver does everything in his power to reel in the catch. Tyms TD catch against the Bills demonstrated a willingness on his part to go up and get the ball no matter what. That gives the QB confidence to throw the ball his way.
