I think the straps must refer to him having to put a saddle on Gronk to ride along with him, because they certainly didn't seem able to stop him when he had the ball.

I didn't read carefully enough. The "straps" refer to the protective brace Gronk wears on his arm...What a jerk!

Straps refers to Gronk's arm brace. Sergio was apparently the guy who initially broke Gronk's arm.

Not sticking up for Sergio, but that'd be REALLY REALLY dumb to be bragging about breaking Gronk's arm when he was a member of the COLTS two years ago.
