Moss is to Rice
Gronk is to Gonzalez

Gronk's already proven IMO to be the GOAT of TEs. It's just a matter of if he gets the longevity stats of not. I feel the same way comparing Moss to Rice.
Agree

He plays the position better than anybody else ever has. He just needs to do it for awhile

Kind of fits the definition of a "Most Valuable Player," don't ya think?

The problem with Gronk getting MVP is if he has the stats to warrant it, it'll mean Brady's stats are even better, which is why a receiver of any kind will very rarely, if ever, win that award over a quarterback.

The offensive and defensive players of the year is basically MVP awards for every other position that isn't QB, with few exceptions.

If Gronk doesn't get offensive player of the year this season I'll be shocked.

Yeah, you're right . The MVP has gone to a QB or RB all but three times since they started handing it out, never to a receiver. If Gronk can stay healthy he should be Offensive Player of the Year

It would be an interesting discussion though, if an argument can be made at the end of the season that Gronkowski represented the difference in the team's performance.
