Breaking New England Patriots Team News
I love how Drake plays catch with AJ and those catches are the greatest in history of any NE WR. Seriously. The clips I see of AJ catching are just normal, and fans are going wild over nothing. I do think he will be great, but the hype of him catching a ball at 1/4 speed is ridiculous.

Love your optimism but Landry's knees are shot no mystery ... also we don't know the degree of Gabe Jacas Hamstring injury. Remember WR Vincent Brisby many moons ago?? He missed an Entire year with a severe Hamstring injury. Letting Van Chaisson walk might come back to bite us I really wanted us to keep him.
Also, may I add, a hamstring “procedure” is WAY worse than just a hamstring injury. Pretty pissed off about this one, they traded UP for the guy for god’s sake. Didn’t they check out his medical ? Plus, they passed up a ton of guys in the draft, TEs, edge rushers, etc.

Maybe because other guys drop the same ball ? I kid. When my nephew played little league ball when he was 8. He was the team’s best pitcher, and when he ran out of steam, they would put him in center field. Well a guy on the other team hits a lined shot to center field, and my nephew catches the ball. His teammates mobbed him like he won the World Series, what was a normal catch/out for him, well if another guy on his team was in center field, that was gonna be a homer.

Really hated Trading all those Fourth Rounders last Draft. Good thing they loaded up on Offense because we're gonna have to score points. I'm so envious of Teams with solid Edge Situations: we should have resigned Chaisson. We gave up a lot for Jacas a Fourth and a Sixth I recall: a Redshirt year for him would absolutely suck.

I had that thought, did they do their due diligence in checking out his medical back ground, or was the severity hidden.

This post is wrong on SO many areas, it surprises me, PF. You are usually so measured. They moved up to get the guy they wanted. All the other 2nd round edges were gone or 230lb speed rushers. They got a guy who can rush with speed (1.59 10) and power (260lb), plus be an asset in the run game. It would suck if this was a red shirt year for him, but Christ man, it's the beginning of ****ing June. We have close to 90 days before we have to play a game. Can we at least wait a week or two before and find out WTF is actually wrong with him until we decare his season over...like you are doing today.

And NO, we SHOULDN'T have resigned Chaisson. He served a purpose as a try hard, one trick pony, who was a liability in the run game and had trouble setting the edge. He did a decent job providing quick pressure on the QB, but in the end IIRC he got most of his sacks with 2nd effort coverage sacks. Jones won't wow us with a blazing edge rush, but he has the power to move tackles and he will be an asset to the run game and will likely get the same number of sacks (8) that we got from Chaisson. We upgraded the position.

So, a lot about our pass rush will depend on how much Ponder and Swinson have developed in their 2nd year. How healthy Landry comes back, AND of course, when Jacas returns. I'm just asking for a little patience before we claim DOOM.

It's Day 2 of mandatory camp in the beginning of June. Maybe we can give this just a bit more time before we declare this trade a bust...

3.8 from Baringer is the reason Bale is here in the first place, though backup punters/kickers isn't that uncommon. We'll see come end of July if Bale is on the 90 man.
I'm happy about this. I brought up Baringer in Feb as an underrated position needing major attention.
Berringer was SO inconsistent in big moments. And of course he had some disaster kicks in the playoffs that really set us back. These numbers show the story - Baringer is just too inconsistent. I'd be happy with a new kid. It's not about an occasional strong leg, it's about mental strength to be as detailed in the weather & pressure moments.

The Pats pass rush is quite putrid, but Chaisson is not the answer. He was a massive liability setting the edge last season. I was getting tired of watching RB's or QB's go right through the gap he left open. He was very undisciplined and was completely out of the play once his initial speed rush move didn't work. It was an easy prediction the Pats were going to let him walk. Pats pass rush is still a major weakness.

It would absolutely suck, but would also be a major red flag if he "redshirts". If Jacas isn't playing much his rookie season, history says he's most likely never going to be anything significant in NE. I don't see Landry playing full time and Jones is a JAG. Jacas is in the same situation as Keion White who has every opportunity to get immediate playing time.

You seem really concerned about Landry's knees and Jacas' hamstring, but AJ Brown's degenerative knee issue is fine?

I have high hopes for elijiah ponder. Barring
Injury i think he gets at least 8 sacks

You know why.

Vrabel just said, the Punter is THE most important position because Drake Maye has regressed and they'll be many more opportunities for Bale to help win games. Quote/Unquote.

Also hoping for Ponder and Swinson to make that 2nd year progression in strength and explosion.

LOL. Seems the good punter over the last 3 years except for the last 6-7 games of 2025 is the player that has the bullseye on his back and is already replaced after 1 day.

Yes

There's a good chance Landry is toast, and Jacas is already missing time already as a rookie.

If AJ starts missing games, let's talk. Right now that's life in the NFL.

(I agree….)

Time will tell, but the 3 together make me wonder a bit about the Pats' medical evals.

I think the team has more faith in Landry than the posters on this board. I think they're giving him the Morgan-Moses-Training-Camp-Vacation for the summer and expect him to contribute during the season.
