Mike Mayock on Edelman

Yes, I posted this in the "Inside the lockeroom" thread, thinking it didn't deserve it's own. I, too, enjoyed the end.

Who could not hear Edleman's story and not love the kid and the effort he has put into being a football player?

I'm still waiting to see him throw a pass (while I prefer Brady to make the throws, I'd like to see just one)

We saw him throw one to this board's very own @brdmaverick. Looks like a good spiral.

Its pretty incredible.

5'10, College QB, 7th rd pick….. becomes Welker's understudy. Not many ppl thought he'd ever turn out to be just as good as Welker. Awesome Punt Returner and WR. I love his fiery attitude too. Edelman is a star.

I eagerly await his inevitable debut as an emergency nickel back.
I liked the reminder that he played 27 snaps on offense and 27 on defense in the playoff game against the Ravens. He didn't look out of place at all at cornerback. Also the video of him getting a sack and defending a pass, complete with a little shove to the face of the Ravens receiver after he had him down.

To be fair, I suspect Julian would look a lot more out of place in this year's secondary.

Nice summary by Mike Mayock about a terrific player - and that little snippet at the end is great!

with a great clip at the end!

Remember Brady laughing about a rookie Edelman challenging him to throwing contests? I think TB12 appreciates having a teammate who may actually be as competitive as he is.

Anyone else notice that Princess Peyton could of dove and got an ankle on that punt return and instead he just pretended to care?

Tom may not be the best tackler, but he would of made an attempt there

I'm pretty sure I remember him playing some special teams too. He was on the field for the entire game it seemed. He probably slept well that night. (was that the one Pats won or lost?)

I've read that he kicked a bit in college.

I think he was the punter, or at least he was part of the time. (looked it up, part time, punted 8 times over two seasons, 38 yard average)

In the playoff game, he was credited with a forced fumble on the Ravens final drive. He was also the primary kick returner. But really, how awesome is it that he was a two way player in one of the biggest games of the years. Can anyone else thing of someone doing that in the NFL?

Tom would have dove at Edelman from the sidelines!

No, I'm pretty sure he meant the interception return.

Who posted Edelman's avg for punt returns is now greater than Hester? The Edeldude has silently become a Real Gamer.

Besides Gronk, another guy that I wonder if was healthy vs BAL in 2012 would have made a difference.
