Anyone have the date of the stadium practice for ST holders and the waiting list members?

I would probably disagree with the WR depth chart they posted.
X WR-Aaron Dobson-Kenbrell Thompkins-Greg Orton
Z WR-Brandon LaFell-Josh Boyce-Matthew Slater
Slot WR-Julian Edelman-Danny Amendola-Jeremy Gallon
Because of LaFell, I can see Edelman lining up in the slot more than in previous years as well. It also depends on match-ups whether Edelman sees more time in the slot or at the Z.

I agree; while I am not onboard with those who think that LaFell is going to play TE I do think they intend to use him in a Joker role where they move him around a lot and try to create matchups. His size makes him a difficult matchup for a nickel CB and his speed makes him a difficult matchup for a SAF or LB.

Given Edelman and Amendola both have an extensive history of injuries, and the slot position takes a lot of abuse I would not mind seeing them rotate them sort of like a RB tandem rotation.

I would add that the player I really like at the Z position would be Boyce if he could put it all together, his talent level makes him ideal for that type of role, he has the speed to get deep and the lateral agility to make plays in space on underneath passes.

I said earlier in the offseason that Boyce getting it would be a godsend for the team. He has the speed to torch a lot of corners outside the numbers, which is something the Pats have been sorely lacking for some time now. His issues that need correction are his route running, ability to get off the jam, and tracking the ball in the air, from what I saw. So he has quite a bit of work he needs to do. But, as I said before, I am rooting hard for him to put it all together.

The first practice is open to the public is in 20 minutes. I'm guessing this one is going to be in shells?

my eyes hurt every time I read Slatter's name in the WR depth chart. Seriously he's a special team starter and I'm ok with that even if that is not common around the league (not counting punter and kicker) but he can't catch footballs.

Yes. I read the first padded practice is Saturday.

Lets just hope Brandon Lafell grasp the Offense he wasn't one I woud have considered in FA prefered others. We have seen too many of his types flame out around here. If Lafell struggles early in TC and in PS games I hope we part ways fast. I hope passing on this stellar WR Draft class in April don't come back and bite us in the @ss.

hes going to have two td's this season minimum. count on it.

I know what you mean he does no justice to our WR position. Anyway he's an Excellent gunner on ST's. I will make sure the NFL look into that.

Actually, I think it IS common around the league. We just don't scrutinize other rosters the same way.

Take Buffalo, where Marcus Easley is another "WR" who gets almost no receptions but plenty of tackles, and is a dead-sure roster lock. Or Justin Bethel, or Darrell Stuckey, etc. etc. The league's top gunners seldom make any impact on offense or defense.

@E_Scal: #Patriots rookie RB Roy Finch apparently off NFI list. He's in uniform and participating in opening camp drills.

Anbody seen how chiseled and compact that Roy Finch is? Watchout! Shane Vereen, Finch is super with the Ball in his hands.

Let's go Finch really rooting for him and Houston to make this roster at Bolden and Develins expense.
The kid has ridiculous cat like moves could be very effective in screens and even out In the slot.
I want to see if Finch can block in the passing game.
I want to see how Houston compares to Ridley as far as exploding out of the hole and wiggle. Plus most importantly protecting the ball.
Make no mistake Bill hasnt paid good cap capital for a back since clock killing Dillon.
These 2 players could very much replace Vareen and Ridley if certain things fall in place.

Friend at camp says Finch was the main KR in the first half-speed drills.

Yup. We know he can zip. At 167, he'll have to really punch above his weight even when a 'lightweight' LB like Anderson comes rushing in.
