A couple of tips for all newbies going to TC,
1. Try and plan to go to practices when they wear pads. They are infinitely more interesting and competitive. The non-padded practices are modified walk through's
2. Bring binoculars if you want to see most of the one - one work with the linemen.
3. If your purpose is to watch practice and not position yourself to get an autograph you can generally show up on time or a little after practice starts and squeeze your way to a spot where you can stand at the top of the stands. I don't find stretching and the loosening up drills very interesting.
If you are coming with kids and need consecutive seats, then clearly get there early to get available seating.
4. If you only can get to a few, try and get to the ones when they train with another team. They are by far the best of the year.
5. Patriots.com will have a daily schedule of practice. Check it before you leave the house because sometimes the schedule changes.
6. Don't forget to pick up a free roster with all the player's numbers. Its about the only thing that's free.
7. IIRC they aren't allowed to wear pads for the first 3 practices, so I don't generally go to those, but they will the most heavily attended
