Holy ****ing ****.. what kind of a kick was that?

And there you go. The Germans do it again. They just love these types of moments and games.

Lol I love the Algerian coach. No reaction! Classic

Much to the surprise of absolutely no one, looks like we get a World War 2 rematch on Friday. I just wish there was a way they could both lose.

This is crazy. Algeria is not rolling over.

Valiant battle put up by Algeria.

I would seriously be surprised if Germany gets past France. Didn't show much for this game, or maybe it was a trap game for them.

France vs Germany gonna be a hell of a game!

After the USA of course, Germany is my sentimental favorite (BVB supporter) but they have looked pretty flat since steamrolling Portugal and the defense will struggle against France. I'm not too hopeful there.

Give Algeria credit; they were relentless.

Actually I think they showed plenty. They showed they can create good chances even when the opposition packs all 11 behind the center line for 90% of the game. That forced Germany into playing a very high back line(well they could have just sat back and played it safe and see if they could get anything going from set pieces in a game that would have set soccer back 20 years). A back line that is slow to begin with and exacerbated by the absence of Hummels.
They showed that playing a back line of 4 CB is Jlow just being a god damn moron. How he is still the manager of this team is a mystery to me. The injury to Mustafi saved their asses. He was forced to play Lahm at RB where he should have been playing all along. When Lahm switched to RB that line settled. Up 'till then only the lack of finish and quality from the Algerians and Neuer doing his best Beckenbauer impersonation is what kept the score at 0. France would have buried a couple of those.
They showed that they lack finish. Sometime they get to cute in the box and sometimes they just can't put it in the ocean from the end of the pier. Ozil was just plain awful. He should have been subbed of at half time instead of Goetze (who was no great shakes either but Ozil looked like he was playing for Algeria most of the game).
Against France it will be both easier and harder at the same time. There is no way the back line plays that high against France (then again Jlow is a moron of epic proportions). Hopefully this game finally knocks some sense into him and puts Lahm back at RB for good. If not they are toast. France will carve them up. France also will not park the buss the way Algeria did. They are both too proud and too good to do that. So Germany should have a bit more space to create chances. If they waste them like they did today they will be heading back to Germany.

Im impressed this thread got this much attention

High back line is the back of the 4-3-3 right?

I am happy to see the US advanced despite the loss to Germany. Go team USA!

I've never understood moving Lahm up into the midfield. Hated it when Bayern did it, and it's oviously not working for Germany either. He's the best RB alive, I guess it's too simple to just let him be that?

I actually kinda like this French team. The cancers from past years are gone now. Benzema has always been fun to watch as a great finisher for Real, but he's really been stepping it up. I like Matuidi's game, as well, so it's been fun to see him do the same. Varane's one of the top young CBs in the game, and Pogba, Giroud and Sissoko are all pretty good and entertaining in their own ways. YMMV, I guess.

What cancers from past years??

This is way wrong ...

What cancers from past years??

Zidane's the man, definitely not him. Was referring most prominently to Menez, but also to Henry and Ribery to a lesser extent.

I'll defer to your greater knowledge on the matter. But still, that headbutt remains one of the dirtiest plays I can ever think of seeing.

It wrong in more ways than one. HA ha I can show you once I get my blog done from my trip with picture of USMNT women fans

Also since I go to most home World Cup qualifiers and some road I can 100% guarantee US has hot women who know the game also!
