im hopin they get carr...i think he just doesnt have what it takes to be a reliable starter in the nfl....maybe with the right coaching..

i hope they will not bring Carr

he playied in HOU with a terrible OL and, imho, he could be a good qb in a changing scenario

for that reason i hope he will not be in a Dolphin uniform this fall

and i do not understand Houston too (but this is another matter...)

hmm sounds very familiar...."might become better in a new uniform"....

so far culpepper and harrington failed....although i still think harrington could be good...

if they do get carr it'll be the same thing....he'll end up competing for the starting job in miami, as saban did, he'll give carr a chance, but it wont be enough time for carr to adapt....like harrington....and everyone who once thought a change of scenery is what joey needed, he was booed off....and replaced by lemon...who played even more terribly....

imo - bring carr in, bring green in....dolphins fans wont give them enough time to actually learn the system....like harrington...then cheers for lemon will be in an uproar....because he looked good in preseason....(also to note that lemon looked good in preseason b/c he was playing against scrub 3rd string players who were trying to play for a roster spot)....

phins havnt been the same since #13.....its just a shame that such great talent like ronnie brown and even chris chambers is going to waste....i ha dthis discussion with a friend who's a phin fan....and i agreed that if you switched chambers with say reggie wayne, chambers wouldve overtaken harrison for the #1 spot in indianapolis by now...

True, but your team doesn't win SB's without a QB. It goes both ways

We wern't winning them when we had the best QB of all time throwing the ball. That just proves that it takes more than a good QB to win championships in this game.

That's true; but it sure helps.

THe scenario I don't like, and the one that I forecast in my mock, is Miami moving up for Brady Quinn. But I'm now beginning to think they'll need to get into the top three to do that, and I cam=n't see them giving up so much.

No one knows what you're getting with David Carr. he had no real chance to succeed in Houston. He could be a good QB and we'd never know.

You know what you're getting withy Trent Green: a past-his-prime good QB, but nothing special.

The Dolphins are not the '00 Ravens or '02 bucs, where all they need is a solid QB to not make mistakes. Put Trent Green on the team and they're less likely to be awful than with Carr but less likely to be good.

I'd rather guarantee their QB is nothing special than take the chance he can actually be really good, therefore I hope they pick up Green.

Green has had success in the NFL. Carr never has. As a DOLPHINS' fan, I want Green.

So you admit it then. Culpepper is not a good QB and you want someone else.
Figures. So that means you also admit that the stupid thread you started here about the fins winning it all is somthing you do not actually believe in and never did because Culpepper is a bum.

that's a very good point about Joey Harrington. I never thought of his situation like that, but, yes, Carr's situation this year would be very much like Harrington last year. Sometimes a change of scenery doesn't do the trick.

well according to the stats, culpepper was abetter qb than brees....not to mention cpep's mvp worthy 2004 season, that was eclipsed by manning

and again, brees came off of a (major) 360 degree rotator cuff surgery on his throwing arm, and culpepper came off of a knee injury...dolphins would be "stupid" to take the guy with the shoulder surgery...

Brees didn't have rotator cuff surgery. He had a torn labrum. I don't believe those are the same thing.

thats funny because the saints didnt have a problem taking drew b .and judgeing by the results we know what team made the right choice .

I think Carr is a "good" starting QB, with outstanding potential and oodles of upside... that being said, as a PATS fan, I would want the 'fins to take Green. Now, Green is quite a good player, but he is already relatively old and aging fast. Carr has a lot left in the tank, has already shown that he can/will take hits for the team, can/will work with a rebuilding process, and works hard to be a team player and help a team to get better... all of that being said:

I really hope that Carr ends up in the NFC... he could be a "solid" starter for years to come (ala Hasselbeck or Plummer) and I'd rather not have to play against him!

This seems like a good place to mention this:

Remember Gary Horton, of ESPN Scouts Inc., who seemed to take the greatest joy in crowing about the decline of the Pats and the rise of the Dolphins in '06, and how Culpepper and Saban were going to put Miami over the top, and into serious SB contention?

Yeah, he's been assigned to the Arena Football League since January.
