Bring on the Damn Habs!!!

The defense was a mess. Bartkowski was either turning the puck over or taking dumb penalties. Krug....I love his offensive skills, his speed, his mindset....but as a battle-on-the- boards defenseman....too small....it was glaring how many battles he lost on the boards in the third period. And Chara.......the guy is slipping physically, and with $7 mill, $7 mill, $5 mill, $4 mill on the books the next 4 years, cost vs performance will be painful.

Bartkowski should have had an assist on the first Montreal goal. He had a bad post-season.

Chara looked like he was playing hurt. He fell down a few times last night.

Offseason focus needs to be on practicing putting the puck between the posts and below the crossbar.

This was a tough one. We completely outplayed the Habs, but Price stole the series. It happens in hockey.

There are two games in my lifetime that just make me angry because the other team is so lucky:
1. This Bruins/Habs game - Chara scores on his own net, the Pacioretty goal where the puck bounces off our defenseman and goes right to gallagher. It's frustrating
2. Pats/Ravens 2009 playoffs - Rice 80 yard TD, fumble ona weird play by Brady results in an easy td, weird int results in another Rice TD. Flacco was 4-10 that game.

Do not know what series you were watching, but the Bruins beat themselves. How many hard saves did Price honestly make? 1-3? if that?

How many posts did Boston hit... 8-10? If we had more accurate shooters this thing was over in 6 possibly and we are playing the Rangers Saturday.

Also, the bruins didn't really outplay the Habs at all. 3rd period of Game 2, and all of Game 5. besides those, the Habs controlled everything else. Pace of play, style of play and finished scoring chances, which is why they are in the ECF.

Habs bring out the absolute worst in the B's. They weren't themselves all series except for game 5.

I agree with most of your assessment here, but to say Price didn't make any hard saves is wrong. He was definitely in cahoots with the pipes, but his performance was technical and efficient which makes most of his saves look easy as opposed to Tim Thomas who looked like an olympic gymnast on the parallel bars in the net during the 2011 run. My expectation was that Rask was going to be the better goalie because this is his trademark and he is the better goalie MOST of the time. I'll give Price the edge in this series because he clearly was the better goalie regardless of the missed open nets and pipe-clangers throughout. When I saw that puck dribble the length of the crease behind Price in the Game 1 OT I had a bad feeling from that point on.

Felger and Maz are pounding the table today....and their outrage of the day deserves consideration. The Bruins are Montreal's *****es and the reason is simple, lack of scoring. The B's are 4-10 vs Montreal over the past two years and the B's scored a total of 10 goals in 8 of those losses.

And in today's Herald...."The B’s had 235 shots-on-goal, an impressive 33.6-per-game. But they also took 146 shots that were blocked and 91 that missed the net. That’s 237 shots that never reached Carey Price, including innumerable excellent scoring chances."

No doubt Price was a beast and I wasn't a fan of his until he proved me wrong....BUT....Montreal's defensive strategy was brilliant both in design and execution. Much like a Belichick defense that takes away the offenses best weapon, the Habs strategy was to take away the shooting lanes of the B's defensemen and put the burden of scoring on the B's forwards......and the forwards couldn't deliver. Brilliant, frustrating, effective.

If we had a guy like Kane who could finish..we would be moving on...but we don't

Brad the Rat Marchand needs to go, preferably in exchange for a RW to compensate for the loss of Iginla. Bartkowski & Miller are simply not NHL-calibre DMen. Kelly is way over-paid, and Spooner is
never going to be a top-6 Centre in the league; if I could get another RW for the 2 of them, I would
make that trade in a microsecond. And that's just the beginning...

Disagree re Miller, fwiw

re Marchand, all depends on who we would get for him, but I don't think he's a must-trade by any means.

Sure he is; his disgraceful "performance"(snicker) in the POs was complete garbage.
The ChiaPet should've traded him to Dallas instead of Seguin.
