When you go to the Pats homepage...

Troy's picture is the second slide that comes up. I think last year, we caught on to something like this just before re re-signed.

Dale just said on EEI, that he has it on good authority that Troy is attending the off-season workout program.

Dan Graham's is also one of the photos that slides through as well.

I think it is Watson (#84)

I see in order, Brady, Brown, Faulk, Cadwell, Brady, Watson (with Neil)

Was that slide show not there previously? Or a differnent slide show?

I hope you (and Dale) are right - but no Bruschi nor Seymour in that slide show... does that mean they are going to be cut?

I cant imagine a situation where Troy doesnt comeback. I really cant. To me he is a KEY piece of the puzzle in '07.

The day that Troy is re-signed will be a good day, indeed.

Don't the Pats still have Phifer's locker set up in the dressing room, just in case?

Sorry, my bad, I looked at it quickly

Glad it's Waston over Graham anyways

I am sorry but while I really like Troy Brown, to think he is a key to next year is wrong, or perhaps scary. I would much rather have him retire now, rather than be cut, or forced to retired in four months. If he is still one of our top wide receivers when training camp finishes than the Patriots have done an awful job in free agency.

We all grow old eventually.

The thing is, Troy is by far our most experienced WR. Somebody needs to show all the newbies what it takes. Remember, Gaffney, Caldwell and Jackson have just one year, or less, in the system; Welker, Stallworth and Washington have zip. If Meion, Givens or even Patten were still here, then your point would be more valid. As it stands now, though, I want Troy to stick around, at the very least until everyone else has proven worthy of replacing him on the depth chart.

I understand the experience aspect, but then again its not like our receivers are all rookies either. I guess I just think some of you are being overly sentimental. It always makes me sad when I see a player stick around too long. I would rather remember him when he was great, rather than when he was average, or less.

Gaffney, Caldwell, Jackson, Welker, Stallworth, Childress and Washington

Which 2 of these young guys do you CUT to have Troy on the 53?

Jackson > PUP

Childress either cut or he makes the team on special teams.

One of the above is bound to get injured anyway. Of course, we probably draft a young WR added to the mix.

These things have a way of working itself out.

However - Troy Brown is a MUST sign. Go here for my thoughts - post #4:

I understand your point. However, its interesting to look at it this way: what have the 7 you've mentioned above proven in the league (and/or on the team) which earns them a spot, and costs Troy Brown his? Bam still might not make it off the practice squad...correct? Is it possible that Jackson is IR'd this season?

It will all shake out at TC. Jackson could be a PUP.

I'll stake my lofty reputation that Troy does make the 53.:rocker:

All I know is that if it is a playoff game and we are up by 2 with 5 minutes left and the other team is punting to deep into our zone. Troy Brown is the guy I trust to be standing on our own ten yardline ready to field that punt.

p.s. If you don't believe me, ask the Chargers how important this is......

Troy Brown does not grow old.
He becomes timeless.

We traded a #2 for Welker so Brown can return punts?

I expect that the Pats are likely to find a way to stick Troy on the roster for another year. He's been a great patriot and is still a versitale, valued contributer. Yes, there are a lot of receiver options now, but that's ok, he still gives us valuable depth and experience and is so versatile. I assume they'll find a way to work things out as they have in the past.

If not, while dissapointed, I'll be ok with what we have.
