Dude, if you want to be miserable all the time, even about signing the best cornerback in the league, go be a Jets fan. Waaaaaay more to your liking.
You can be miserably all the time about everything and actually have justified reasons for it to boot.

"I get to boink this Supermodel! But I only get to boink her for a month "

5th in the league in sacks thanks to Talib/Dennard and now with Revis and a more mature Jones and Collins playing full time we could be at 55! I am psyched to watch the D.

Disagree completely. 12M for DFR is fine by me.

I wonder if revis coming here Had any bearing on browners decision Probably not. But who knows

talk to me next year when the cap hit is 25 million.

The deal seems designed for an extension. Can the Pats tag Revis? No (an offer of good faith on my part). Can the Pats pay that option? No. I look at that $25 million as a good signing bonus on an extension.

Lower the cap hit for this year, give them each a year to feel each other out. I think they are both looking at it long term. The deal happened quicker than the Browner saga. I think both side wanted him in and let the rest of the pieces fall where they may.

Everything points to Revis having wanted this to be his destination after things went south with the Jets, it just took him a year to get here.

The man has made 80 million CASH in his career. That's what he's collected.
I honestly would not be surprised to see him willing to restructure in a way that lets him play out his best remaining years as a Patriot in a way that isn't overly crushing to the football team.

I find it really hard to believe he has wanted to be a Patriot for the last year solely to play for a new contract somewhere else. That just doesn't make sense to me.

I say Revis is here for the next three seasons at a fair price.

Book it

According to PFT, the cap is exploding to $150 million in 2015 and $160 million in 2016. If this is true, then there will be big money available in the next couple of years to keep Revis in town.

Most of this team is pretty young. Young = cheap. The highest paid players from the 2013 squad - Wilfork, Mankins, Mayo, are getting older, and will be slowly trickling off the roster in the next couple of years. I think the money will be there.

No to mention the fact that the "alleged" murderer won't be counting 7.5M against the cap next year either. I don't think that Revis is going to leave any money on the table. He will be able to get the money he wants from some team. This will be especially true if he can get a ring with the Pats this year.

That said, I am going to enjoy seeing him in a Pat's uni this year... the rest of it can be dealt with a year from now if they can't reach a long term agreement before then.

Mayo isn't getting older to the point hell be leaving. QB is the most important position and they will be pretty old there.
