I'm really having a hard time getting into Pats talk during the offseason. The draft doesn't interest me at all and I'd love to reach through my computer to smack people making predictions for next season with 5 months of offseason left. I think I need to find a Sox board.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'd like to avoid boards on team sites and places like ESPN, preferring something independent. The only site I know of is SoSH and while it's a great source of information they take themselves way too seriously there and the whole idea of earning your way into a membership seems a little elitist to me.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

This is a very good site. It has all teams and the sox forum is well governed with a great mod. Good banter with Yankee fans with no over the top crap like on ESPN or some of the others. Check it out and you will be pleasantly surprised.

thank you. I checked them both out and they seemed a little slow. I'll have to check them again once the games get going.

ya, the baseball fever site is a little slow right now. Most of the posts are in the ST game thread at the top...like a runng thread through ST.

redsoxnation.net is a very good site as well.

Sports Tonight was just commenting on the apparent lack of the typical Red Sox news frenzy we're used to in the past. They cited the Pats FA,the Celtics situation, and the Bruins scrapping towards the playoffs as reasons for this as well as the fact it's sort of a general sports news lull right now anyway.
Reiss' page has a tab to Red Sox news. The page includes a link to what appears to be a pretty active board. I can't attest to the quality of posting, etc but there are a lot of recent posts with pretty good titles.

Darn, soxfans.com is taken by the Chicago White Sox.

I'm not as excited for the Sox this season as normal. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I'm not happy how bloated the payroll is getting. For years, we've really been part of second tier of spenders with LAA, CWS, NYM, LAD, etc.

Now, we're really turning into Yankees II and it makes it less fun, not to mention, I think the Yankees model of tossing $$ around is short-sighted and ineffective.
