If BB wants one of these pass rushers, does landing Revis sway them towards the Patriots and can it be made to happen within the salary cap?

Can we even afford Allen? He wants to get paid or else he says he will retire.

I wish, but not likely unless they are paid accordingly.
Which is not likely to happen.

I'd hope so. Too bad Allen is being an ass.

My 2 cents goes to Melton on this one.

I think it would entice Peppers more. Allen seems content on sitting out. Although maybe Ware getting the deal that was meant for him ticked him off that he decides to come at a discount.

It does to a certain extent, but they will still want to get PAID. I mean that's why they entered free agency and/or were cut because they wouldn't restructure.

We're NOT paying what these guys want.

I don't know what Peppers' market is looking like, but it seems like Allen would retire before he'd accept a third down rushing specialist contract from the Pats.

You think Allen would be a "3rd down specialist"?...seriously?

If they want to pay him to be their every-down starter, then that's probably somewhere in the $8-10M range. After cutting Wilfork, signing draft picks, and having an emergency fund, signing Allen to that kind of money would basically end free agency right there. I'm not saying that Allen isn't good enough to be a starter, just that the Pats can't really pay a DE to be a starter right now.

All else being equal, you'll get more sacks if Revis is playing behind you.

I agree it would end FA, but could you really ask for any more bang for the bucks?

I think Peppers is more likely, and not only him. I think a lot of veterans may be looking to land in NE now. Players seem to like this thing, "ahh these Denver guys are building a homie club over there, so let's build another one and see who are the badazz mothafocas"

Allen wants to be paid and is willing to retire to prove it.....I don't believe Peppers will improve the pass rush......I'd rather take a shot on justin tuck

when you think of all the other positions to bolster (SS, OL, DL, WR, LB, TE), I think you can get more. Either way, I expect imminent moves to free up cap space.
