We. Have. Revis.

I'd like to see the terms of the contract. Is there a no franchise tag clause (is that even allowed)? Any of the money guaranteed?

It feels like we're just renting him and that he's not ours completely. A multi year deal would have been nice and I would have gotten a jersey.

Not complaining though!

If he affects our passing defense the way Ted Washington affected our run defense when he came here for that one year, I don't care.

Isn't 120% his franchise tag number for next season, not his cap hit this year?

Ah, yes Big-T, I read that wrongly. Thanks for the clarification!

According to Bedard's tweet earlier it is 120%. Therefore, $14.4 million.

Read it again he was talking about franchise tag in 2015. Revis cap # is 12M for 2014

Woooooooooo!

I would have posted this five minutes earlier, but I was too busy dancing around the room.

I AM A MEGA ***HOLE.

I'm a man of my word. This is ******* fantastic. We're about to see a style of defense played in Foxboro that we haven't seen in eight years. Now we need to fill DT, DE, 3-tech, and SS either through the rest of FA or the draft and this defense is an elite, finely tuned machine.

please let this be true and certain -

I f'kn love Revis!!! - get steve smith and some of those mid level guys and we's set

This sums it up nicely.

I think the Revis-Patriots relationship will be a good one. Both sides conceded something, so the relationship starts in good faith. I think there is mad respect between coach and DB, and those situations usually work out well for the Pats. Revis is no dummy either. If it comes down to the Pats-Broncos again - Revis gambled on the better QB. They still have work to do, but a HUGE piece was filled.

Thanks! Way to step up. Even though you didn't make the text turquoise.

I dare you to make a post about there being noway we sign Kevin Williams and Henry Melton.

so we will qualify for most likely a 3rd round compensatory pick in 2015 for losing Talib, and keeping it because Revis was cut from his originally team.

So, we upgraded the position, didnt have to give up picks, and actually added value.

Not to mention, if Revis ends up balling out and pricing himself out of our range next year, could qualify for another 3rd rounder next summer.

Bill knows value, and he knows how to preserve it.

I am so damn excited for this signing. I've been a believer all along that if Talib was going to get $10M/yr Revis was worth the few extra millions. What a day!

Now can the football gods put Calvin Pryor on the Patriots come draft time?

Big-T was unreal. Ted Johnson said his butt was so big you could project a movie on it. That was the best D the Patriots ever had; offenses had a dilemma; they could not run and they could not pass.

If someone gets 100% confirmation, please post. Hopefully,
thru his agent Neil Schwartz.

Craig Carton is going to be a hoot tomorrow on WFAN-AM in NYC (550 AM for those of you who can get it). The bleating will be pitiful....I cannot wait.

Isn't that ridiculous? Just sick. Elway & Co. patting themselves on the back today only to be outdone by good old Bill at the last minute.

Someone suggested that we sign what amounted to a $45M/3 contract. This is $14.5M a year ($12M and two franchise tags). I expect the team and Revis to renegotiate sometime this year.

Well, we could have franchised Talib, as some of the mediots suggested. Instead we REVIS!!!

Finally. Thank God

The 1 year deal got him through the door - I bet it will last longer.

Won't come until after his physical tomorrow.
