Until proven otherwise, she is the Oracle of Delphi.

No word from Erika Leigh yet either... not buying it until I hear from her

She claims the Patriots are offering Talib a better deal.

But, but, but, the Patriots don't pay!!! Now we *know* this rumor is bogus!!!

Screw Talib Schefter reporting bucs gonna release Revis by Wednesday.

THE Dianna Marie Russini?????????????No way! Must be true....who the eff is Dianna Marie Russini?

Looks like she's the sports anchor for the D.C. NBC affiliate.

FWIW I checked the Redskins forums and they seem to think she's reliable, though the posters were biased since they didn't want Talib to begin with.

Bleecher report has Talib very close to signing with patriots. Reportedly pats topped the washington offer.

Sounds like pats will be getting him back

I'll believe it when I see it. If a deal happens, it will be very interesting to see how they structure the deal. I'm guessing there will be a lot of playing time incentives in there.

Does anyone really think the Pats are outbidding Daniel Snyder? I am still not buying the report.

When I see the ball in the mitt, I'll start my celebration.

The rumor this morning is the Pats and Talib are close on a deal similar to what Grimes got. Hopefully they build some injury clauses in but I can live with a Grimes like deal. If this is true he'll be signed before FA opens. If it isn't he'll be a Redskin right after it opens. 4PM here we come.

Amen brother. I got fooled by rumors like this last season. Welker ended up else where. I'm not falling for it this season.

That report was fake..no offers

Gotta wonder if all this Revis speculation has anything to do with talks between NE and Talib. If that is the case, it's risky holding off with Talib in hopes of signing Revis. Could end up biting NE if they happen to lose out on both. I'm not saying this is what actually is going down, but it is a possibility.

It's definitely a gamble but, if you hit the jackpot, you've just solidified the corner position with the best in the game while you're awaiting a draft that's neck deep at positions of need on both sides of the ball. If you lose, you're not quite in deep **** again in the secondary, but you're flirting with it.

It's risky but if I'm NE I'm holding off with Talib to see what I can do with Revis. It's worth the risk IMO, hopefully it works out in the end.

Agreed. I've had my hopes crushed before.

Thank you for bringing up such an unpleasant memory! Why don't you just give me a paper cut and rub some lemon juice in it!!

reiss thinks it's to keep talib

Carlos, any team should explore the possibility if he's cut, as Revis is a premier player at the position. As it relates to any Patriots interest, I think they'd prefer to lock Talib up on a multi-year extension, but there are surely contingency plans if that doesn't happen. I think it makes sense, from a Patriots standpoint, to float potential interest in Revis as a tactic to try to move things along with Talib. If I was reading tea leaves, that's my main thought on any linkage between the Patriots and Revis.
