Me want:

1. Aaron Donald or Dominique Easley - disruptive 3-tech
2. Christian Jones or Marcus Smith - explosive space player with coverage ability
3. Logan Thomas or Larry Webster - athletic TE conversion

I think I saw that Michael Sam had a 25.5 vertical. That's very poor.

That would be very impressive. Fletcher Cox put up a 7.07 3-cone. Geno Atkins' was 7.33, FWIW. Gerald McCoy was 7.32 and Suh 7.21. Anything close to 7 would be outstanding. Anything under would be JJ Watt (6.88) territory.

It's actually interesting to compare Donald with Watt:

- Donald: 6'1" 285#; 4.65 40 (unofficial), 1.59 10 yard split. 9'8" broad jump. 35 reps @ 225.
- Watt: 6'5" 290#; 4.84 40, 1.63 10 yard split. 10' broad jump. 34 reps@225.

They appear some what similar in terms of their intensity, drive and motor.

Watt has much better length and longer arms, and I'm sure his vertical and 3-cone will be somewhat better than Donald's. But Donald is more explosive, and he's just not that far off.

Watt went #11 in a draft that was very strong at the top. Donald is also in a very strong draft, and there is the length/weight issue.

Some interesting takes by Rang with him projecting into the 14-16 range but I didn't realize Donald's arms were that long. Another reason to think he could play end in a 4-3.

I think the question is whether he gets past Chicago at 14 or Dallas at 17. If he does, there's a decent chance he falls within range.

Sigh. I want Donald so badly but the chances of that happening appear increasingly fleeting.

Maybe I'll put in a request to have him stop performing so well.

Wow, he keeps climbing the draft boards. I wonder if by the time the draft rolls around he isn't a top 10 pick.

If I was Seattle I might consider doing that. In their scheme I think he could play the DT or the LEO.
