Draftniks always think about moving Mallett, The thing they forget is that the Pats will pay more than what they get, to merely replace him. They never think about that cost, and only envision using the draft pick for their fanciful addition of a passed over Top10 pick, elsewhere.
If or when Ryan Mallett walks next year, the Pats get at least a compensation third rounder, for any new contract that he signs. So why would you give up a cheap season of a backup QB.
There are those who think he can never be the successor, and that might be true, but I think he has a very good possibility of being above average on his own, and with his rare athletic ability, and a possibility of being very good too.
