Hypothetically, if Gronk had not been extended and he was a free agent

Hadn't been extended, Gronk would be a free agent by now, right?

How would this play out at all? Would BB offer him a new deal in the same ammount of the extension? Would move on?

What about his market value after all those freaking injuries and surgeries?

He'd get the franchise tag.

He's a bargain at that contract. If he was a FA, every team in the league would be trying to sign him.

He would get a huge contract. There are only a handful of players in the NFL that can impact a game like he can. Teams will take the risk with injuries.

Franchised.
Kraft has tempered his love for Talib by publicly reflecting on games missed due to injury. Not sure why Gronk wouldn't be viewed the same. The TE franchise cost is cheap relatively speaking and would be safest course considering Glasskowski's rough past two years.

Gronk’s absence had MUCH more adverse effect than Talib’s.

I don't know, there have been a huge change on how the Pats play defense when Talib is not on the field.

doesn't that make him not a bargain? If every team wants him then the price would go up and he would probbaly end up with a big deal

I do not think they would have ever let it get to that point. I think the Patriots know that if you do not get out and front of these types of contract situations you end up paying out the rear as the Ravens did with Flacco.

He is now signed to a contract for years. He is a bargain.

If, hypothetically, he had not been signed to that contract, every team in the league would be trying to sign him, injury history or not.
