What is it with this 60-degree crap in Denver? I just awoke to a gorgeous winter wonderland here an hour north if Gillette and my entire being is primed to get geared up and head out for today's AFCCG. Ample fresh snow on the ground, temps in the mid-30s throughout the day and a respectable 16 mph breeze. One of two bad calls instead goes our way (New Jersey, Carolina) and we're here.

I've been feeling good about the Pats' chances all week. Let's kick some Forehead ass! :rocker:

I wondered how big of a difference the miami loss was going to be in the playoffs after denver gave us a chance for the #1 seed and we blew it. Hopefully it doesnt come to bite us. wouldve been more confident if this game was in snowy foxboro.

Man, that's why refs need to be held accountable
One picked up flag vs Carolina and one rare flag vs jests from number 1

Good weather conditions will help our offense and defense as well.

Remain calm...all is well.

Ughhh!

I've been thinking about this all weekend. Missed opportunity. Still gotta win.

Cant leave the game for the refs to decide. Pats missed their chances in all the games lost.

Championship teams win on the road.

Home game today would have been so awesome and it's frustrating that the Pats lost that Miami game — but, yeah. Pats won in Pitt in AFCCGs after '01 and '04 seasons (and I believe Brady had the flu for the latter).

We were all pretty excited when the Ravens won in Denver last year and look where that got us. Today is a chance to make things right.

My thoughts exactly. I was pretty psyched with the #2 seed figuring if htey had to go to Denver then they would have to really earn it. Besides, 2 out of the 3 Superbowls were won having to go on the road to the AFC Championship. As big as an order it is, they are capable of winning in Denver.
Go Pats.

I've always held the belief that destiny is in play. If it was meant to be it will be regardless of where they play.

The sadly predictable part is that, should the Broncos win (ugh) some folks will say Manning's success in Denver proves he can win in a cold outdoor environment. I've said here before and today proves it — Denver's weather for "winter" game, based on my observation, pales in comparison to places like Cleveland, Foxboro and even Baltimore down there in the gateway to the South.

(Even last year's Divisional Game there — note the Broncos lost — was an exceptionally cold day bracketed by days and days of relatively mild weather on either side).

Nothing we can do about it. Let's just go in there and make their house our house.

Forget the bad calls in NJ and Carolina, Tune. The Patriots had their own HFA destiny in their own hands and they flubbed it.

I have been *****ing about that 2nd Miami game throughout.

55-24 pass-to-run ratio with the Ferrari RB's we have against a weak run D that specialized in pass rush. Oh and btw, no Gronkowski/Dobson or Thompkins. Brady/McDaniels' worst brainfart of the season. What they did that day was completely foolhardy.

The Patriots DID have HFA Destiny in their own hands and they gave it away that day.

Oh well, just makes the win today over Peyton and the Broncos that much sweeter and more dramatic on the road!

maybe but reading reiss's and listening to BB's film breakdowns next day a lot of the run to pass happened with brady changing the plays at the LOS and miami did a very good job in the redzone showing a run blitz making brady change the plays to a pass.
We screwed up big time in the RZ. The numbers for run/pass do get skewed with all the passing in the 4th Q trying to come from behind.
On the other hand, who knows , they might have lost to baltimore if they had won vs miami.

Red Zone killed us in that game, as well as Gostkowski's missed FG and That awful TD the defense gave up at the end of the half to give Miami momentum.
We actually moved the ball well all game except for in the red area.

Sucks that we missed that FG because if we only needed 3 instead of 7 at the end we win the game.

...and it was after that game, coupled with the weather at BAL and home vs BUF and Indy that the team put more emphasis and commitment to the running game.

Part of we does wonder if BB and JMC did have some kind of sit-down and tell TB to quit checking out of run plays and have a bit more faith in the play and the personnel.

On the other hand, Brady had a monster game vs MIA so it wasn't like he was 19-51 for 192 and threw 4 picks...

So we can't play a close game? What if the jets had that same penalty called on the pats last drive and the patriots score a touchdown for the win? Did the jets miss their chance then?

The "monster game" Brady had in Miami is like the "monster game" the Broncos RB's had against the Pats in November!

Rope a dope. Strategy and situational football beats stats every day of the week.

The reason Brady was passing so much that day is because Miami was challenging him to do so - - they knew who was in the receiving corps that day. He stubbornly went for it.

There was a CLEAR REASON why the Pats had problems in the RZ that day trying to throw end zone with no Gronk, no KT and no Dobson! Against a pass-rush D that was not a goodrun D. They have 3 battering ram RB's plus Vereen. Seriously - - wtf??? I agree with you, Brady was most definitely sat down in the office about that the next day.

Hopefully, Dobson and KT are active today (at least one) and they can at least show some looks.

That does not hold water.

The doink snap off the Miami holders's face mask evens out Ghost's miss.

The "awful TD the defense gave up just before halftime" happened becasue of TERRIBLE clock management by Brady and the O (passing and stopping the clock on incompletes) just before halftime to give them that chance. The Pats were up 10-0 and looked like they were carefree about giving Tannehill another chance before the break. - - stooopid.

The Hoomanawanui one handed circus TD catch was just as lucky and unexpected a play as one can see.

Please - - the Pats did not lose that game because of any bad luck. Brady/McDaniels were stupid that day and it cost them a plane ride to Denver this weekend.
