Thought I'd start one in case there are some nuggets.

And to start, seems like Cornell QB Jeff Matthews has done well on day one:

Walked out with Raiders contingent all agog over Jeff Matthews

Here's a report from a blog at bigcatcountry.com, apparently a Jaguar fan.

Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois -- If you've been paying attention to draft buzz, then you likely know about Garoppolo by now. He should be the best quarterback prospect at the game and could find his way in the Senior Bowl the following week depending on how the roster shakes out. He's someone the Jaguars have scouted during the season and could find himself drafted in the second- or third-round in May. He's got a lightning quick release, he's accurate, and can move around if need be.

One of my favourite mid to late round CBs.

Marcus Williams CB NDSU showing quick feet & understanding of leverage concepts. Very active eyes too #shrinegame

Jeff Risdon

Jordan Najvar, the Baylor TE will be interesting to follow this week.

I'm interested in seeing CB Pierre Desir from Lindenwood. He is a mid round guy with a ton of upside. He's 6'1", raw but a really good athlete. This is from the NFLDraftScout reports from the first day of practices:

He also received praise from the coaching staff for his ball awareness to get his head turned, find the ball and come off his man to pursue the ballcarrier.

LT NT Justin Ellis just bull rushed right through Gabe Ikard three times now. Big winner today. @JoshNorris warned me.

Eric Galko

350lb plus NT.

From Draftinsider:

Zacharia Kerr/Delaware
Mon:
Outstanding effort and terrific results all day. Quick, strong yet also athletic. Destroyed opponents making plays up the field or easily changed direction to chase the action in pursuit. A lot to like.
Wed: Another terrific outing from Kerr. Displayed the power to hold his ground against double team blocks as well as the athleticism and movement skills to get down the line and outside the numbers to make plays. Had one great forced fumble out by the sidelines as a result of his hustle and pursuit skills. Was told rounds 5-7 entering the Shrine but 3rd/4th not out of the question now.

Zach Bauman/Northern Arizona
Mon:
Small but very shifty, elusive and finds a way to squirt through the small creases of the defense.
Wed: Shifty and showed good hands out of the backfield. Put the ball on the ground one time, after getting stripped by Zach Kerr.

Shrine Practice: East Team

2014 Shrine Game: Defensive line prospects shine on Tuesday - CBSSports.com

Entering the week, my top defensive tackle prospect participating this week was Louisiana Tech DT Justin Ellis (6-2, 351) and he hasn't disappointed so far. He used his active hands and quick feet to beat blockers during drills, putting spin moves on Oklahoma's Gabe Ikard and also steamrolling him on a few occasions. To no surprise, Ellis weighed in as the heaviest prospect here at 351 pounds and he uses that girth well to bully blockers and surge through the line of scrimmage.

From Jeff Risdon at RealGM:

Wisconsin DT Beau Allen is not very impressive physically. He’s built like a sumo wrestler, with all his 333 pounds between his knees and chest. But he’s impossible to move off a spot. During a drill working against double teams, Allen was able to not only anchor but create forward movement when others were lucky to avoid getting planted into the ground. His hand placement was solid, but what really stood out was his ability to drive with his legs and leverage with his arms and shoulders.

And from Eric Galko:

-I thought Wisconsin’s Beau Allen exceeded my expectations the best after today’s practice. I hadn’t graded him as a draftable player in this class coming in, but he’ll force me to re-watch after he was able to penetrate and get great initial push and remaining active in his lower half throughout his rush. In a class lacking great nose tackle talent, Allen could have found himself a home in the draft.

2014 Shrine Game: Wednesday West Practice Notes

Between Justin Ellis, Zach Kerr and Beau Allen, there's some serious late round DT talent in this draft being shown this week.

@NEPD_Loyko NT Justin Ellis, WR Matt Hazel, OG/OT Austin Wentworth, Jeff Mathews, and NT Beau Allen all showed a lot more than I anticipated

Eric Galko

So anybody watching this with me tonight?

Mike Mayock sighting. Draft season officially starts.

Very interested in Jordan Najvar, TE, Baylor today.

So a position other than QB for Jordan Lynch then.
