Do we go with more of a speed corner and provide help from McCourty or allow Talib to try and shut him down?

Who covers Hilton

Talib will get burned against him. Dennard on him with safety over top. Let Ryan, Arrington and talib shut down the other guys.

He will smoke Talib, IMO. To the extent they play man, it will be one of the other guys playing under him with safety help. He is significantly faster than any CB on their roster.

TY Hilton will get jammed all day and popped when he catches the ball. He is in for a rough day. I imagine Fleener will get a steady diet of Jamie Collins who's done a nice job in coverage on TEs.

Very tough to jam a guy playing in the slot, but when the Pats decide to take someone away, they usually figure out a way to do it. I like Collins on Fleener.

Does anyone have numbers on him on turf vs. grass? He is not a big guy so I gather he relies on speed and elusiveness rather than physicality for most of his yards?

The good news is the defense has been practicing all season against a player who has the same speed as Hilton and was quicker laterally, more agile and stronger.

Not to get off subject but this is why I think Boyce is going to be a monster in season 2. This kids has the goods and he was productive in college, he also appeared to show dramatic improvements over the course of the season.

The Patriots don't have a speed corner.

I'd be more concerned about ensuring a good pass rush on Luck.

If Hilton will be lining up in the slot then in theory Arrington will match up with him. We all know KA is better in the slot than on the outside and seeing that Hilton has tremendous speed and quickness, I would assume as other posters have, it'll be a combination of coverages. Some man, zone, bracketing, etc.

I think with Hilton the main thing is making sure the CB (any of them) is consistent with a press technique. Just jam him initially and trail him well...he's a Torry Holt type. If you're "consistently" physical he's not much of a problem.

The only time Hilton was able to make chunk yards was in off coverage/zone against the Chiefs. Just press him and keep pressing him and Luck will just go somewhere else.

I do think Da'Rick Rogers can be a problem if he's ignored in this game, as I wouldn't be surprised if the Colts made him more of a priority in their gameplan. He's quicker and faster than his size and is a wildcard player as far as his usage in the offense.

Yep. Maybe a lot of zone, considering Luck's running ability.

I would put Dennard on Hilton, because Talib would probably have trouble keeping up with him.

Including postseason games (@ BAL in '12 & vs KC this year):

On turf
Code:
Rec Yds Yds/Rec TD Punt Ret PRYds Yds/Ret PRTD
110 1731 15.74 10 27 322 11.93 1

On grass
Code:
Rec Yds Yds/Rec TD Punt Ret PRYds Yds/Ret PRTD
43 503 11.70 4 16 137 8.56 0

He's their best offensive option, which means BB will take him away and make Luck beat us with someone else. He will always have someone over the top of him and he will get chucked at the line all day. Given the way they called DPI this week, he's in for a rough game.

Don't need to cover him if he's not playing if you know what I'm sayin.....

Does it matter? We are playing outside, but on Field Turf....not grass!

I think it does as the field could be wet and the temp not a comfortable 72 degrees but a chillier high 30s - low 40s.

we're talking TY Not Paris correct?
