Their coverage is so good I fear I take it for granted. When an agenda driven sensationalist like shank starts crying about the head coach not cooperating with his character assassination, you have to contrast his crap with the increddible insight and consistent stats and analysis we get every day with Mike.

Have to laugh how his network, the current king of trivialized personality reporting, backed down and kept his column almost intact, with an apparent concession that he post an occasional story and mugshot of the gangland killer to placate the tabloid fans.

Just want to salute probably the best coverage of any sports team I have ever seen without the drama and hoo ha! (except the tight end of the same name).

I second this. His column is one of the very few I have bookmarked. Just straight up reporting without an agenda.

The thing about reiss that surprises me most is his ability to zero-in on good players in the draft. Over the years he has suggested a number of players the pats should look at like lavonte David, Jabal sheard and aqib talib, etc. his suggested picks are almost always contributors in the NFL.

Also made me think about the writers added here at Patsfans. Morgan and Baliestri always have good columns and i like Havens and Ian particularly.

I know there's added stats content during game days, but between trying to watch and keeping up with the thread (if they're winning, I can't take it anymore if they aren't) I haven't delved into it.

Maybe a sticky about the stats, gameday features and other aspects of the site, columns features etc. for those of us used to going right to the forum. I do usually read and sometimes comment on linked articles, of course.

I also like Jeff Howe of the herald. Guy is on the news instantly and generally doesnt speak in agendas.

Agree completely on Reiss, just the facts.... no BS reporting.

I think one of my favorite things Reiss does is his semi-weekly chats with Bruschi. It's one of the few things I legitimately look forward too when I see them.

Reiss has so many strengths -- what he does (gets pretty much every piece of news) and what he doesn't do (offer half-baked opinions just to provoke discussion).

It's great too that he brought in Field Yates and Mike Rodak as his sidekicks and integrated them into his way of doing things (still intrigued about which poster on PatsFans MR was ...)

You didn't know? It's Deus Irate.

One additional note: Running back LeGarrette Blount was still wearing his AFC East Champions hat. He obviously likes the fit.

Gotta love this note from today's practice. A bad apple with a bad attitude is turning into an emotional leader on this team. It happens, but only some years on great teams. Regardless about which bodies are healthy, this is a great "Team" in the emotional sense of the word.

I know his style annoys the he11 out of Patriots.com radio but I completely agree. They seem to think he never challenges the team for info in interviews and in pressers but he is head and shoulders around someone like Breer who just wants a sound bite.

Reiss reads between the lines and is a good translator of what the team cryptically says and translating that for the fan.

He is a great follow on Twitter if you are a fan of this team.

I love Sunday mornings because I can read his quick hits around the nfl.

The best thing about reiss is he owns up when he makes a mistake. Great accountability and professionalism.

Reiss is great, only pats blog i have bookmarked.
