Rob Gronkowski injury: torn ACL, MCL

Rob given Gronk's injury history counting College was the reason why he wasn't a First Rounder. Love your optimism but even YOU were a little concerned about his timetable regarding his prior injury. Why would you think he would be in any rush to get back in the summer? The media blows things out of poportion but what's said about him possibly missing the 2014 season is not too far fetched given how Gronk took HIS time the last time around. You have to wonder about his mind set going forward. Will he come back like Gronk or will he be different player? I am prepared for this Offense going in a different direction them building it around our young WR's.

Considering how cautious Gronk was with his arm, I can see him missing the first half of next season.

I will go a step further I can see him sitting out the entire season.

So what got Andrewgarrr banned? (He posted on the first page)

Surprised no one is talking about Mulligan's comments after the game about why he tried to leap Haden. Based on his comments, it seemed as though the Pats coaching staff noticed on video that Browns defenders had a tendency to tackle low and coached the players all week to be aware of that.

You can add concussion to the list

I don't get your logic. Gronk and his medical staff were overly cautious because Gronk had four surgeries on his arm. He did not want a fifth.

Dr. Andrews will be doing Gronk's surgery. He does all of Drew Rosenhaus' clients' knee surgeries. He is the best at it. I am sure Gronk has the utmost confidence in his work.

Unless Gronk gets another infection, I have no worries about Gronk's timetable right now. Medical science and case history shows he should be back and close to 100% by the start of the season in 2014. Why because of his problems with his arm would people just assume he is going to sit out even if he is ready. Different injury and different circumstances.

At what point will Gronk say enough is enough? Back operations, arm operations, knee operations. This guy will be a puddle with no working parts in a few years if he is not lucky.. He needs to get his Farrelly Brothers movie cameo going and see if he can extend his celebrity a little longer before he slides into the porn/bouncer phase 3 I envision.

Talking about this season.

I understand that but can you blame him after going through multiple surgeries on the same arm because he came back too soon. Another surgery and that arm may have never been the same. Knee is a different animal. If its a straight ACL, MCL i can't name far more players who blew it out in december and played in september vs had to miss more time. Unless you truly think he was milking the arm injury.

Oh, all that and he still got a concussion???

You have got to be freakin' kidding me. The NFL. SMH.

LOL, but he has no avenue for fame at all unless he is a football player. That's the only issue I see with extending his celebrity.

We'll seem him again in September and he'll be dominating again. All you homo sapiens should relax.

1) If not stated above, add a concussion to the play result.

2) Don't forget that crappy Staph infection floating around his body. Maybe gone yes, maybe gone no.

I think the team should move on with the intent to play without him next year. If he's available, great.

We need to just cover gronk in steel. Defenders take bad hits to tackle him, that's why he gets injured all the time. He is too big and too strong and players are tackling in ways that have a higher injury rate.

All those teams like the Bengals, Colts, etc. who copied the two tight end offense better be taking notes:

TE Y – 6 surgeries in 12 months
TE Flex – murder charge, 5 weapons charges and held without bail

Let’s see you execute that Marvin Lewis…:explative

What are the chances we sign Pitta or Pettigrew in the off-season?

For me, the worst thing about this injury is knowing that Gronk is going to take these shots again and again throughout his career. DB's, on top of not being able to hit high anymore, won't do it with a TE the size of Gronk because he's simply too big and will drag them if they try it. Hope the surgery goes successfully and he recovers well. Unfortunately, the guy has now missed time in the last three seasons, one exclusively in the playoffs. Without trying to sound overly negative, I hope the team has a better contingency plan going forward because, based on the evidence we currently have at hand, I don't think we can count on him for full seasons.
