Lets not forget about him, he played a great game. Hopefully more to come!

I agree. Not a bad game for a bust.

Was Hightower benched?

Where's the guy that said he's clearly already gone way of T.Wilson?

Snaps: Reserve LBs do their part - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

Contributions from linebackers Dane Fletcher and Jamie Collins, who haven’t been a big part of defensive plans prior to this point, stood out. Fletcher had played 68 total defensive snaps through the first nine games of the season and nearly matched the total on Sunday night, when he had a key forced fumble. Fletcher was thrust into action when linebacker Dont’a Hightower came out of the game late in the second quarter and didn’t play another snap the rest of the way. As for Collins, he was “active”, according to Bill Belichick. That was reflected in his snaps-to-tackle ratio, which was impressive (22 snaps, 10 tackles). The Patriots spent most of the game in their 4-2-5 nickel and the speed and range of Fletcher and Collins helped the club.

Here is a full listing of the snaps played. I'm surprised at Collins' number; it seemed as if he was on the field for a lot more than 22 plays.

S Duron Harmon – 90 of 90
DE Chandler Jones – 90 of 90
DT Chris Jones – 90 of 90
S Devin McCourty – 90 of 90
DE Rob Ninkovich – 90 of 90
CB Kyle Arrington – 85 of 90
CB Aqib Talib – 80 of 90
DT Joe Vellano – 70 of 90
CB Logan Ryan – 69 of 90
LB Brandon Spikes – 68 of 90
LB Dane Fletcher – 57 of 90
LB Dont’a Hightower – 33 of 90
LB Jamie Collins – 22 of 90
CB Alfonzo Dennard – 21 of 90
DT Isaac Sopoaga – 14 of 90
CB Justin Green – 8 of 90
CB Marquice Cole – 7 of 90
DE Andre Carter – 6 of 90

I don't recall Green being on the field at all, which is obviously a good thing.

Was Hightower benched?

It looks like it. He needs to lose weight if he is going to be ever effective o. Pass downs.

Or he was possibly injured; hopefully that is not the case.

Collins only played 22 out of the 90 snaps. Talk about making the best of your opportunities with 10 total tackles, 4 solo and 1 for a loss while still playing really well on special teams.

Wow. Chris Jones went for 90 snaps? Dude must be feeling it today.

I like what they are doing with Collins, easing him in gradually to our complex defenses...

Patience paid off last night, and he will probably get more snaps in the future...

Always liked Fletcher and Collins was very noticable. Hope they continue to use them more.

Troy Brown or TY Law suggest that Hightower eats his way up to the D-Line with his size already he should get there in no time. If you have Collins out there on a slot WR with or without help that saying something about his abilities.

Lavonte David annoys the **** out of me.

yeah, so many people were saying how he has been disapointing and he just needed to be given a chance. Definitely made the most of his opportunities last night

Hightower should be OK but he was drafted to play with Mayo not in his place. He's miscast as a coverage LB, when he's paired with Mayo he should be able to play to his strength.

Collins really looks the part, speed, size and he packs a good punch when he hits. I like him a lot.

Jamie Collins gets a great Woops Welker face.

I don't recall Green being on the field at all, which is obviously a good thing.

He completely lost his man as he ran across the defense. The announcers noted it. His man cuts left across the defense at the right hash mark and Green just stops and leaves him uncovered for a good ten yards.

Spikes played the most at LB and was totally ineffective IMO. Don't understand why they didn't have Sopoaga in with their lighter lineup. They were getting gouged and spikes looked like he was playing on one leg.

I don't think he played a "great" game. He had a very good game, especially considering he hasn't played much all season. He had a big hit that prevented a first down and then a pass break up that prevented a first down. Those plays were tremendous and should build his confidence. I heard nothing but how much of a physical freak his is all through TC. I'm glad to see that he is getting an opportunity, though I'm sure he wouldn't be in the field with Mayo and co. healthy. I'll reserve judgement but, if last night was any indication, the future is bright.

Fletcher, on the other hand, had a great game. I still don't think he'll crack the starting lineup just yet, but he's definitely earned himself more time on the field. That needs to happen. He's a stud.

Great summation.
