Miller *****made Solder on numerous occasions. He was essentially batting Solder's hands down so hard that Solder was losing his balance. Hopefully Solder watches the film and learns from that. I would also love it if he put some more bulk on his body in the offseason.

I doubt solder is going to get a lot better. He's had issues bulking up for years....one offseason isn't going to change it. He is a smart guy too, so film study won't likely add to his footnall intelligence.

BTW, you wanna call a foul on Talib negating his interception, then call the TEN TIMES WORSE foul committed on Kenbrell. What the hell was NOT PI on that play?

Had a question about the Talib INT which was overturned. Wasnt it underthrown/uncatchable to be called as PI ?

That Talib call was so ticky tack to me, considering the receiver was nowhere near the ball and not because of Talib. In fact, Talib's "hold" helped him out because he was taking off up the field. I wanted to put a foot through the TV after that one, especially in light of last week.

Pretty sure it was called holding not PI.

Can holding be called when the ball is in the air or did they throw the flag immediately before the pass ?

So Collins played 22 snaps and made 10 tackles? Pretty good efficiency there. I was just re-watching some of the game and he was all over the place. Wonder how much he will be on the field in the future games.

As others said, it was holding that was called. But Manning got rid of it quickly because of pressure and Thomas was still streaking down field instead of breaking his route off. So technically, yes, it was underthrown.

BRONCOS-PATRIOTS OVERTIME THRILLER ON NBC'S "SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL" POSTS 17.0 OVERNIGHT - TOPS FOR A PRIMETIME NOVEMBER GAME IN 17 YEARS | NBC Sports Pressbox

Last night’s NBC Sunday Night Football thriller featuring Tom Brady leading the New England Patriots to a team-record setting 34-31 overtime win against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in “Manning-Brady XIV” – the 14th meeting between the future Hall of Fame quarterbacks – posted a 17.0 overnight rating and 28 share (8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. ET) marking the best primetime overnight for a November game in 17 years and a 26% increase over last season’s Week 12 SNF game (13.5 for Green Bay-New York Giants).

The previous best November primetime NFL overnight was an 18.0/29 for Pittsburgh-Miami on ABC on November 25, 1996...

The Patriots’ memorable Sunday Night Football victory is the fifth-highest Sunday overnight in the eight-year history of NBC’s primetime package...

The funny thing is looking at the Broncos message boards, Donkey fans are complaining about how Talib got away with holding and Gronk got away with pushing off on every play. Kinda ironic since the way the Broncos were holding Chandler Jones could be considered rape in some states and the Broncos used their illegal pick plays liberally with only being flagged once and it was only because it was way too obvious not to call. And let's not forget the fact that Thompkins was absolutely mugged on one play without flag.

I felt the refs let a lot go (maybe too much at times) and both sides benefitted at times and were robbed at others.

Re: Hate to nitpick but McDaniels or Brady's playcalls in the OT

Two Long Bombs on third and relatively short. We were throwing to guys on the outsides who were better suited over the middle. One was to Edelman the other to Gronk I was upset about both calls.

The one to Gronk wasn't on third down. Besides that, it was absolutely the right call and the shot that Brady should take ten times out of ten. When you have Gronk isolated outside with a linebacker trying to cover him man to man, you make that throw. Those are the kind of opportunities that break games wide open.

If there's one fanbase that can't complain about picks and push-offs going uncalled, it's the Broncos. Both the Pats and the Patriots use this stuff extensively to get their guys open. That's just a basic reality when you have a bunch of precise route-runners, a prolific TE, and a QB who delivers the ball into tight spaces.

Not only Thompkins, but Edelman got interfered with by Jammer on the following play.

Pretty much, yeah. The holding didn't affect the play (would have been intercepted without the hold). But he did hold, so I have no problem with that flag being thrown. Kind of a bummer, because I think Manning throwing the game away right there would have left a far more lasting impression on the general public.

Maybe not, though - he bows out of the playoffs on stuff like that every year, and the football-watching public somehow manages to forget within a day every single time.

Must have thrown it before the pass, because holding was the call, and holding is only called before the pass is thrown.

something law and troy brown said last nite comes to mind.
Manning goes by the book.He sees two deep safeties and running opportunity , he hands of the ball. He doesnt take the game/ball in his own hands in clutch times and goes by the book of what the defense is doing.
Brady on the other hand does. So Iam willing to consider that it could be brady changing plays at the line and taking the game on himself.

You seriously think that, at a certain level of intelligence, film study no longer makes you a better football player?

Chat: Chat with Tedy Bruschi - SportsNation - ESPN Boston

Phil (Braintree)

Hey Tedy, it seems like they are always rushing at the same spot on the defensive line (left tackle). Denver did it last night with Moreno and Carolina did it last week Williams. What do the Pats need to do to stop this? I thought Sopoaga was supposed to help up front yet Jones and Vellano are getting most of the snaps. Your thoughts?
Tedy (12:25 PM)

Manny Ramirez, the center for the Broncos, is a very strong player. At times, he was manhandling the interior DL of the Patriots. If a team wants to attack the Patriots in the middle and run the ball, they will have success, but it's hard to have success against this defense through four quarters because of the intelligence of the coaching staff. If you recognized the adjustment last night, it was sending Jones and Ninkovich and crashing them down from their defensive end positions to stop that inside run. They could do that because Peyton Manning himself was not a running threat. That stoppped the bleeding a little bit as they held on the best they could to force the Broncos into some tough third-down situations.
Interesting tidbit from tedy on pats adjustment.

Collinsworth made that point in commentary on a number of occasions too.

Something about the way Jones was "flinging his body around" at the point of attack.
