Defensive snaps, Game 9

So, not much rest for Chris Jones then after the Sopoaga trade. Only missed three plays. That's every play bar 3 in the last 3 weeks. Incredible for a DT.

Chris Jones must keep himself in remarkable condition for a 300+ pound man, he has played about 95% of the snaps over the last 3 games.

Snap. Like minds and all that.

Carter playing 45 snaps in his second game is a bit surprising.

He got a lot of playing time when Ninko went down, right? I think that BB knows what he gets in Carter from his last time here, and that he trust Carter in putting up a decent pass rush but most of all not giving up the outside.

I didn't think Carter looked that good. Kind of sluggish. I wanted to see Buchanon play more.

I wonder what is the deal-io with Ninkovich's foot and the Gregory's thumb.

Jamie Collins is either slow to develop, having bad practices or is just a mistake... thought he would be playing more by now.

Fletcher had 16 snaps, which suggests about 16 plays in dime. There were 12 more CB snaps that would be required for an average of 3.0 CBs/play. There were plenty of snaps in the base defense.

I'm confused here, and look forward to Reiss' weekly post on personnel groupings.

There were only 124 snaps total for Hightower, Spikes, Fletcher and Collins, on 75 plays. So, disregarding Jones and Ninkovich playing 3-4 OLB, that's an average of well less than 2 LBs per play. This presumably helps explain why there was room on the field for so many CBs.
